Silly Trainz
I guess you could go into the locomotive config file and make it so it acts like an unpowered traincar, instead of a loco...but then all of that particular type loco's on all your Trainz route(s) will act like an unpowered traincar. And at a later date if you want to drive it, you will have to re-config the file. If the headlights are off...How can you tell if it looks "silly" ? Is it smoking or burning up fuel ? Years ago, RR's never shut down loco's...except when they actively being overhauled. That is before receint EPA laws were enacted requiring idling diesels to be shut down, and diesel prices went up.
