TTX Wellcar Train Hauls! look at video

Okay, since you opened the door Bob, I'll step through it: Yeah...what the heck? I think Trainz videos are fine and all that, but this one is just a time waster!

Guys, time to cool it.

It's a different style of video (one that is relatively common on prototype trains as well), that is all.

If you are going to criticize the work/creations of another member of the community, then please do so constructively.

@mutanay77

Rather than simply attacking other users for making comment, take the comment in and maybe see what they are trying to say.

In this case, the video really is far too long of just empty container wagons going past. Try using a 'tracking' camera to allow you to pan, or use one of the available 'invisible' locomotives to allow you to 'pan' the camera (rather than rotating it like at the end of your video).

Yes, my bad Zec.

Mutanay77:

When a film is made for commercial release rarely does the director disregard the potential viewers reactions entirely. Of course the director would like to express his/her personal style and expressions, however he/she knows that in order for the film to be successful an audience is going to have to sit through it, many times over. Those that insist on forcing their vision on the audience often are unsuccessful.

Unsuccessful directors often run into trouble trying to engage an audience for future projects. No matter how splendid the film, many theater goers just won't turn out for what they fear may be another exercise in boredom.

The title of the thread lead me to believe the train in question was a real train. The video is not one that captures the imagination, and begs to be watched to it's conclusion. (I'm guessing the conclusion was the last car in the consist speeding by).

I won't be fooled again, the director has lost an audience member, or two, perhaps more by word of mouth.

I'm awaiting my apology for the above inference...

my apologies sir, maybe next time ill make a video that would thrill you

my apologies sir

Well done, I accept your apology, and I extend mine since I have seemed to hurt your feelings.

When you produce something for public consumption, such as a route, or piece of content or movie or even a screenshot, you must accept that there WILL be criticism. None of us are exempt, even the most respected and prolific creators here take it "in the shorts" once in awhile.

Honestly, I do not know how actors and others who are in the spotlight 24/7 are able to maintain sanity. A thick skin is an understatement!

It may be helpful for you to title your video's as "Trainz...TTX Wellcar...." in order to keep expectations in line. You may want to consider releasing them in the Trainz video thread in the screenshots forum as well. When railfanning, a consist running by at high speed can be thrilling, but remember - you are there, feeling the rush of wind and the vibration and hearing the real sounds close up. It's hard to translate that to a video from a game.

I'll reserve judgement on your video skills until the next one.
