TS2009 Patch Download Unavailable ?

Is anyone else having problems downloading the latest patch for TS2009 ?

There are later versions of dirx but that shouldn't be a problem. I don't think open gl will help either. Suggest you go to trainzdev and see if there are any reports on DLs

Trainzdev is listing the same links, and the 40702 to 41844 does not work from there either.

If you are getting the error that you need to update directx you need to go to microsoft.com and head to the download center and download DirectX Redist (August 2009)

that will update the files and the patch will install.

Does this also apply when you already installed DirectX 10 (running under Windows 7)? I mean, do I really have to 'downgrade' my DirectX? Or is there another trick. I have installed DirectX10, but the TS2009 patcher aborts saying I need to install DirectX9 august 2009 version.

Try running the patch applet in Administrator mode. This seems to solve a host of weird problems with installers.

Sadly installing as Administrator didn't work. So I downgraded my DirectX to the version mentioned above which went without any problem. After that, the patch installed well.

Now check and see which version of DirectX you have and report back.

I have found that you can have more than 1 DirectX version installed at the same time - I've got DirectX 9 (August 2009), and DirectX 10/11 installed.

The Trainz 2009 patcher, as some people have found out, does require DirectX 9 (August 2009) which can run together with later versions.

Ehhm, how can I check which version is installed? Some time ago I somewhere saw I had v10 installed, but I can't remember where that was:'(
