TS12 vrs TS2006 AI

Well I used to have TS2006. And I had a bit of fun with it. But one problem I had with the game is the AI not following orders. Basicaly what I like todo is create a map, and have several trains run on it controlled by the AI. I dont remember the exact details but it was stuff like train A loads cars 1-10, Tran B loads cars 11-20, Tran C loads cars 21-40. Trans A, B, and C would take the cars to a yard. they would then drop the cars. and grab new empty cars (41-50, 51-60, 61-80) from that yard and repeat the process. Train D would connect cars 1-40 and take them to the next city. Drop them at a yard. Grab cars 81-120 and bring them up to the first yard and seperate them, waiting for train A B and C to drop cars 41-80 and repeating. Train E would take cars 1-10 to the port and unload, drop the cars back off at the yard, and do 11-20 and 21-40 too.

Basicaly the orders where done like this the train would pull into the yard and stop at a marker. it would disconect X car from X car. pull forward to a marker. Then ordered to anouther marker (this time it should have revered to get to that marker), however it always had problems with this. And then disconect X car from X car again. pulling forward to anouther marker...........

However even thow I gave it specific orders to goto markers and such and drop specific cars. it always had problems perfroming these actions. So I ask does TS12 solve allot of these AI issues? So they can follow complicated scenarios. Or does it still focus more on the player controling the trains himself?
 
I think it's the same. I certainly hope so. I've just ordered 2012. 2010 is definately better than 2006. Many more refinements and ways around problems. I have just discovered how to get Ichat to work. MP will be even better.

So it has the same issues as before in the example I gave, of the AI not being able to reverse connect to a car?
 
I don't have TRS2006, but I understand it was similar to TRS2004 in that you used scripting to create AI instructions? If so, the 2010 and 12 interface is different, but it was easy for me to figure out. This;

Has a link to an old beta I never finished because there was apparently no interest in it, but it has AI trains dropping off cars with the "Uncouplez From" command, and other AI trains coming in to pick them up with the "Couple at Trackmark" command. It actually works pretty well, altho it took some tinkering with the markers and permissive signals to get the AI to do what it was told to do. The AI traffic in TS2010 is intelligent but psychotic. :hehe:
