Hopefully, this will help to answer the many questions about TS12... including minimum and recommended comp specs.

The previous thread is full of speculation and guessing. But, I suppose that will continue until we get more information from N3V.

Regards,

Sort of.

Satellite View sounds like an attempt to remove the Mini-Map, you still have it you just do not need seperate ways to obtain it in Surveyor.

As I am no sound expert, I have no idea what Doppler will do. Despite the later statement about most content working, I could see the possibility of this changing the way sound files are produced leading creators wanting to know if they have to redo sounds because of changes.

Municipal transit railway and the NE Corridor are probably the routes I find most interesting.

I expect Speedtrees will be better in some ways, not sure what else will be new.

So far, I have Recommended specs except for video, I am just a few steps below that.

Personally I think April is early for a release but then they must have worked on this for a bit. Expalains why they needed other people to clean up DLS.

So, bets on how many posts before someone comes along with, "Are you kidding, another TS12 thread?!?!?":hehe:

sounds like a good summary of it.

the effect should be a software calculation, so i dont see any changes to how a sound is made. you could search for doppler if you are not sure what it is. in my opinion, it is quite a milestone in the trainz experience.

Q and A says there will be no compatibility mode. Not a problem I suppose for most folks. But for me, I'll wait to see if Dermmy's EK3 runs without screwing up all the greenery. If EK3 gets fouled up, then there'll be no 2012 in my future.

Personal point from me, NOT a dig at our America friends.

Why 4 U.S. routes?

No Australian routes this time! (ahttp://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...ZiFB_uQwc0E&ved=0CCMQBSgA&q=Melbourne&spell=1 Sydney to Melbourne route would be nice!).

As for British stock, hopefully new stuff has been added (The class 20 was well used on the ECML (Hint, Hint).

Still not much in why we old timers should upgrade (unless you live in the U.S. or into Rail-roads).

Thats what I think at this time, I may upgrade IF a certain British group do a new route (and it's better in TS12). ;):hehe:

They ARE working on a new project, from what I remember, and I have no doubts that it'll require TS12 (or TS13, or TS14... depending on how long it takes) when it's released.

CaptEngland,

I don't know what goes on in development (maybe that's a good thing after TS2009 when almost everyone was allowed to get involved :p ) but I do not see any harm is proposing the inclusion of an Austrailian route especially if one is available and the creator of whatever route does not mind.

I just got TS2010 3 months ago & now they're tempting me with a new version?! Here are my opinions:

*The Northeast Corridor route looks interesting
*The Appalachian Coal route: I think I saw that on the Download Depot at Trainz ProRoutes.
*We've never had a Cajon Pass route in Trainz (I think it's Cajon Pass!). Also, the SF & SP loco's look interesting.
*Finally, a route for all of the built-in Chinese content!
* I'm an unabashed fan of interurban operations, so the Municipal Transit Railway seems to be made just for me!

To be fair, I'll get 12 when 2010 nears the end of its support lifecycle.

call Chris Windwalkr on satelite view and draw distance unlock

Chris from what I read they change the free roaming view to up to 10 km.
Can I conclude that they also unlock again the draw distance lock for low end computers not to crash and hopefully again give high end computer owners ROI on their investments and let them fiddle till crash point is reached??

What would free roaming unlock help in 2012 if the draw distance lock kicks in anyway, so is my assumption correct????

Thanks for a any positive answer

Roy

Which happened to be 4 years... so, arithmetically, you will be facing Trainz 2015 by that time! :)

Concerning the FAQ:

I would like it to be expanded somehow as to cover the N3V policy about upgrade options and/or discounts for previous version owners etc.
Also, will Trainz 2010 retain multiplayer option or it will be removed after beta test comes to an end?

Thank you. That covers about 90% of the information that I was seeking.

Did you not notice the wink and laugh smiley? :p thanks for the conformation though. (note to mod's, can we please have a shake hands smiley). :Y:

As other people have said, the draw distance DOES need to be improved for most people. My present machine needs renewing this year and so I hope the present draw distance is unlock for those with the power.

If not, can we have a special `Trainz ZX SPECTRUM Version` :D. I'm sure you would sell more than a Mac version in the U.K.:hehe:
