Trying to change Specific weight of product coal in Trainz for mac.

Trying to change mass from .86 to 26.31 for product coal. Kuid:44179:60013. If mass value is to be in kilograms then the mass should be changed accordingly. Typical weight of coal is 54-60 lbs a cubic foot. I opened the editor and changed the mass value but when I submit it the new value will not save any suggestions. Is it because this kuid came with the game. If this kuid can not be changed would someone be willing to make a new kuid for the product of coal with corrected mass value?

I think that the mass of a bulk load, such as coal, is expressed in kilograms/liter. If coal weighs 54 lbs/cubic foot, 0.86 is right for the mass. A cubic ft of coal weighing 54 lbs would weigh 24.5 kg (54 x 0.454 - 1 lb = 0.454 kg). A liter of coal would weigh 0.86 kg (24.5/28.32 - 1 cubic ft = 28.32 liters).

Good Morning Greg4933

As per my reply to you on the helpdesk regarding the 'mass' used for the coal asset in Trainz.

As Trainz uses metric measures for calculations, the volume of a 'unit' of coal will be based on litres, not cubic feed. As such, one unit ('litres' of coal) should weigh approximately 0.86KG. Please also keep in mine that the weight for the train (or vehicle) shown in Trainz is metric as well, and as such the weight shown will be in Tonnes, and not Tons. Please also keep in mind that changing the value for the mass of the coal will effect any vehicles setup correctly for these, particular steam locos which will generally have the physics and tender loads setup to correctly work with the 0.86KG 'mass' for the coal asset.
