TRS2009 Patch question

Buffalo_trains93

It's snowy here.
Alrighty guys,

I know the patch probably doesn't work, but that's not going to stop me from trying. Would anyone be so kind enough as to tell me what exactly this means?

This patch file is not applicable to your current installation version.
(Build hash: 61cf76257b606a69a85b876adf05a448)

Now, I'm going from 38411, to the 40-whatever, so I don't quite understand this message. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

All Trainz service packs have two numbers in their filenames. The first number must match exactly with your current build number. That error means that the program thinks it doesn't match, in other words you've got the wrong file.

The second number is the build number which will result after the service pack is installed.

Well, I found the patch, and got this message.

Failed to apply the patch: 38599_to_40040
Patching aborted.

So as you can see, I am throughly confused....:n:
There are many more files already patched, but it just stops, at 50% patched.
Any help would be appreciated,

Take care,

Ryan,

The patching process can take quite a long time to process. My machine took well close to 2 hours to run. I started the patch and went off to do something else while it did its thing.

This may explain why you have some files show that they've been installed already -- They have!

John

JC,

It's not that. It's that those messages pop up, then the Patch Aborts itself. Without my concent, or my awareness. It just stops. I had this same problem when I first tried this patch. Due to this, I can't use my TRS2009, at all.

Take care,

Ryan:wave:

I hate to say it, but have you tried reinstalling TS2009 then installing the patch without importing any assets?

If you decide to do something likes, I recommend clearing any temporary files, Auran-related registry keys, etc. Advanced System Care (www.iobit.com) and Ccleaner will do this for you.

Once that's done put the base program in. Ensure that it works properly.

Put in any other patches necessary, then put in the latest patch.

In the past I had a problem similar to this, but with a server instead. For some reason, the antivirus update didn't upgrade properly. The only way to fix this was to uninstall the program clean up any leftovers, and then reinstall the base program and the patches.

Hope this helps.

John

JC,

Thank you for the advice. I'm not even going to bother with it. I don't understand why a patch requires me to uninstall my game. So, for the mean time, untill all the problems have been fixed with 2010, I'm just going to uninstall it. It's not worth having on my computer as it gathers dust. This is a dissappointment.

Take care, and thank you JC,

Ryan,

It's not like the patch would normally require that you reinstall the program, it's this case where things have gone sour during the patching process.

Give it a try when you have more guts to try again.

John

Mm, it's not that John. It happened to many others by my understanding, not only myself. That's what I cannot phathom. If it was a fault on my end, I would understand and would most certainly do something about it. But I'm not the only one that appears to have this problem,

Take care,

Ryan,

John Citron mentioned antivirus in the other thread about the same patching issue. Have you tried turning off your antivirus before trying to patch?

The patching operation does take a long time. I started it late last night, turned off my monitor, and went to bed.

Hope the antivirus maneuver works.

Art

P.S. I lived in Buffalo for three years, and I'd hate to have to get anywhere in an emergency during those lovely winters.

WhyFly,

Thank you for the response. I think I may do that, just to see what happens. Yes, last night we spent the night shoveling hydrants out of the 2 feet of snow banks, for about 3 hours, and then most of the guys were dispatched to a Haz-Mat call where most of us were playing Fire Police:hehe: Almost had an accident last night aswell while we were shoveling when one person decided it'd be fun to do 50 out of a parking lot and almost T-boned another car comming by. Some people don't know how to live in Buffalo.:hehe: I'm defenitly looking forward to becomming a Full Fledged Firefighter (Only a Junior Volunteer currently) in a 2 years, so should be exciting.

Thank you, and have a safe and happy day,

Ryan:wave:
