trs 04 routes in trs 09

Hav'nt tried this yet but I thought I'd ask first. Has anyone downloaded a route made in trs 04 and added it to a route (merge route) in 09?
I'm thinking of doing a merge with my older route that is on the DLS and adding it to the one I'm doing in 09. Just thought Id ask before I made a mess of what I've done so far.

Hi greywolfretired,

I have merged a small extension to a route that was originally 04. to explain more, I have a route that was originally for 04, imported it to 09, then received and extension of the original route. I deleted all the boards that were not part of the extension and saved just the extension itself. imported the extension to 09 and merged it to the imported route. If you get my drift both were originally for 04, I have not tried to merge an 04 route to a route built for 09.

09 saves routes in a different format so i would make sure by importing the route and open it and save as a different name. You can then merge without any problems. To be safe save the original 09 route as a different name aswell, then merge these two.

Stagecoach,it works. I only had to ensure that there was somewhere on both routes that will hook up without too much altering. Also make sure the height of the boards are the same or you can alter the scenery to adapt to it. Just went in and rotated or moved the route to where I wanted it. When I downloaded there ws some things missing but no big deal as I want to change a few things. Otherwise it seem to be good. don't know about the track though ,I think it different directions wher they meet. will need to check that out .

Ran a train,no problems with direction and all the signals worked so I am assuming that I got it all to work.

Glad your happy. Some assets from 04 might not wok in 09 because of the different scripting but ive not had to much of a problem so far.

After I got the testing of merged route done, went into topology and changed the grid from 10 to 5 and it certainly made a difference in the scenery.
