Hi everyone, this is my first time
I have got Trainz 2006. I bought because i wanted to be able to make train tracks with Thomas trains for my 4 year old autistic son. I have downloaded the trains he wanted and we have worked out how to make a track etc but we have no idea how to make the train move.
If anyone can help me i would really appreciate it.
Sharon:)

Welcome to Trainz :)

After placing the trains on the track hit the keyboard keys "Ctrl" and "F2" at the same time. Save at the prompt, select 'DCC' from the next option you are ready to drive! 'W' on the keyboard for Forwards, 'X' for backwards (could be reversed depending on the train set up) and 'S' for stop.

That should get you started.....

You can also use any route for thomas if you dont want to do your own track. In surveyor just use the left coloum to open the route only then place thomas and friends and do as you have already done CTRL+F2. Hope he has great fun with it.

You might like to try making Thomas or any other loco pull a set of coal wagons run round a loop of a coal mine and a power station. Make sure the coal wagons and both the industries are all marked with the IND green tick. Then if you drive slowly the wagons will be loaded at the coal mine and unloaded at the power station. When you make the layout, be sure to link up all of the coal mines' tracks to the main line at each end otherwise the loading doesn't seem to work.

Have fun!

Really ive always used the < and > and / buttons in DCC.

Yep, me too, I find that combination easiest especially when nudging the power up and down all the time keeping just within a speed limit so as to meet a difficult timetable.

But use whichever keys you find best for you.
