Trees for both 2004 & 2009

I've been working on my very large Kansas City route for almost 2 years now in TRS2004. I recently bought TRS2009 and installed it but really haven't studied it or become familiar with it yet. Someday I want to convert it to 2009 native mode.

I would like to continue working on my route in 2004 for now. I know there are issues with trees, splines, and alpha channels in 2009.

Does anyone have suggestions for trees and foliage that will still work in 2009 native mode?
