Trainz video programs which one's to use

Anyone know which programs to use to get the best video quality for a Trainz video,,,been trying for a day or so to get it right ,i uploaded about 15 minutes worth this morning took 4 hours ,divx format and looked like crap once uploaded.

Try format factory my videos have been uploaded in HD with it coded in mp4

You can use RealPlayer Converter to convert it to virtually any format. I've also been playing around a bit with Windows Movie Maker which does a really neat job of combing clips and you can also use it to Convert.

thanks guys what i really also need to know is what program did you use to make the video to start with,i used Fraps and then coverted to divx with avs video converter,,,,it looked great until i uploaded it ,then it looked like crap,,
ok i think i have found out why
silly me i had converted to mpeg instead of mp4
i will try again today.

If you convert it to H264 I believe that is the best quality you can get. If you go to Youtube and search for (say) "Converting videos for Youtube" there are plenty of instructional videos there.

Try VirtualDub

I assume you are looking for a program that takes a Trainz video that has been recorded with eg FRAPS and then compresses it so that you can upload it to youtube?

I use a freeware application called "VirtualDub".

If you Google it you will find download locations and a tutorial or two about setting it up.

I find it extremely fast and the results are very acceptable. See here, for example (best viewed at 480p and full screen):

The settings I use are:

File/Open
Video/Compression
Choose codec = Xvid MPEG-4 Codec
Configure (unrestricted)
Single pass
300 (say - maybe make larger to increase file size and definition)
Audio/Full processing mode
Audio/Compression = MPEG Layer-3
File/Save as AVI

I think for that youtube video I used maybe 900.
