Having problems getting a loco moving. When I try to adjust the loco control bars the message "Controls Locked" shows.

The Control Guide from the onscreen menu simply shows the keyboard controls but nothing about unlocking them. The keyboard controls do nothing.

The View Online Documentation from the File menu on the Launcher goes straight to the TRS19 documentation.
If you are trying to drive the very first train you land on in Session 1, it is intentionally locked. Follow the instructions in Session 1 and you will be driving a (different) train in no time.

Going to be honest but its nice to see these spin off versions of Trainz again. I don't know why but it just is.

Anyway first thoughts when playing through the tutorial:
- the same AI profile pics are used. I thought these have been chanced with actual driver character pics
- TRC crossings have light issues where they don't flash
- The realistic/CAB indicator looks a lot like TSW's indicator. I've also notice there is no way to switch to easy/DCC mode but I also haven't played past the first tutorial so maybe this changes?

I like the new session gameplay features. I hope TRS26 will have the same session rules as builtin that this game uses so us session builders can take advantage of them.

cheers

Raildriver doesn't work for me, But i am not sure it was supposed to work. I am going to assume an xbox controller is what alot of people will use. I have always used raildriver , or just continue to use keyboard and mouse.

I also missed it the first time:ROFLMAO:
Me too. My feedback would be to change the Menu - had no idea there were two more options hidden under 'Control Guide'. I would have expected a bar down the right hand side to help out with this at the very least.

I assume that this is supposed to be a Train driving game which would explain why DCC mode is not available.

What I miss is the ability to change the in-cab view positions. Also, the narrator during the steam engine driving kept saying blow your "horn" for the railfans. He should have said "blow the whistle for the railfans". I also found the steam engine training was not thorough enough. By the time I reached Moffat Tunnel the engine was out of water.

Modern browsers will often block suspicious download links initially. (And that is generally a good thing for most punters, imo). In my case, in Google Chrome - knowing that the link was probably safe - I had to click "Keep" to start the actual download of the 18.6Gb .zip file to local drive. Chromium-based Edge has its "Download anyway" flavour of the same risk warning - showing that you have cheerfully ignored their blocking suggestion.
Will post again once I have played around with the new toy...

DCC mode still there. The W S X keys plus many others still work. Just click the 3 bars to the right of the speed dial to open the help windows. There are separate windows for diesel and steam keyboard controls.

Yep. Took a few minutes to sort out that it wasn't an X-Box controller - then PC control familiarity returned. First impressions of the tutorial and initial driver experience were very positive. Good route and task to start on!
Loaded quickly and rendered fast on my 4k displays using a 5070Ti and copious RAM/VRAM. Wonder what the performance experience will be on a lesser-specced machine?
Still the same palaver on the installer insisting on putting the data files and folders onto my C: Drive UserData directories, despite specifying another dedicated SSD drive for installation. The usual instructions provided (for newbies) for moving Data folders are as muddled as ever - but fortunately we Trainz veterans know better ways/ methods.
Looks like this will be a great experience and introduction to budding Trainz simmers new to this genre. Won't change my preference towards route and session building using the current full-fat versions, however.
Good job N3V!

Just started Waverley to Dundee....

Could you please revise the announcer's pronunciation? Inverkeithing - strees is on the "Inver"; "BurntIsland" is "Burnt"+"iland" (is in the geograhical feature - not "Burnt"+ island -with the "S" pronounced?

My wife (A Fifer) would take me to task for those!

Apparently the announcement for Aberdour was oftern "Half an Hour to Aberour" - originally "Half-ower, half-ower to Aberdour" from the Ballad of Sir Patrick Spens...

ECML Signals

While the route has been updated, thee are a number of semaphore signals (combined stop/distant + branch) that only display the colours - not the correct arm positions. This is a common problem with the latest Trainz "engine" having been updated while the signals were not.

Regarding the East Coast Main Line, the route has been carefully constructed, and has a 1970’s feel to it (the many coal mines, good yards and housing. The latest passengers characters don’t quite fit with the period…

The loco control I find much clearer and easier that the current style - can we keep them?

Lastly, if you could send me a list of the announcements, I’ll ask my wife to read them and use the “normal” pronunciations for the station names (the dialect seems to stress all the syllables rather the my south English habit of weakening the last one. (I had problems with Loch Gelly x the Bloch was fine, but I used the Welsh “ll” a “chi” sound in mistake. Family have never let me forget that one!)

Shunting and train brake

I'm carrying out the Inverkeithing shunting. I find it confusing that having decoupled from a set of wagons the train brake is still effective - it needs to be released before the loco will move. I would have expected that the train brake wouldn't do anything if there was no train?

The brake must be active with a consist without locomotive. Imaging a consist in the mountains without locomotive and without brakes. Without brakes, the consist will be running downhill.

In an earlier version of Trainz the key "a" had the function of activating or deactivating the brake, as far as I remember.
