Trainz Patch Help

Was there a need for a double post?

That has to be the least helpful response I've seen on this forum (and there have been a few) - just what is it supposed to achieve?

Although I have to admire the persistence of people's endeavours in applying patches. I downloaded the patch three times and three times it simply disappeared. Couldn't find it anywhere!! Anyway, I've given up and I'll wait for the next version.

IKR!!! Sometimes I think that there are people on this forum that are only here to bug people. They don't like trains, they don't like trainz, they are just here to feel important.

Cure te ipsum

I presume this wasn't intended to be of any help to anyone. Yet more proof that, as in politics, you can find a plethora of people who talk much, but really have nothing constructive to say.

So guys did you patch go in okay?

Just wondering because this thread went off the tracks somewhere and I'm curious. Over the years I have patched various versions of Trainz both manually and automatically. The process is painful as usual and it takes some preparation ahead of time.

1) Always make a backup of the current install prior to patching.

2) Turn off antivirus

3) Run the patch (manual install) as administrator

4) Let it run overnight so you're not tempted to touch the computer.

5) Once patched, reboot the computer

6) Start up Content Manager

7) Run a database repair

8) Check for any false errors and view them to clear them.

If you follow this procedure, you should be all set. Under no circumstances should the patching process be stopped in the middle otherwise a mess will occur.

Thank you for that - useful and to the point!!!

However, I tried once more to download the relevant patch, but unfortunately it disappeared again. Presumably something to do with my machine - Lord only knows what - so I'll continue to wait for TANE.

I was able to patch mine to the 61388. Sad part is when it downloads, most of the time it doesn't do anything. I probs downloaded it 5 times and nothing. then the 6th time it worked.
