Trainz Options

Steam Rules OK
Pardon my ignorance but can anybody tell me what to do in 'Advanced Options' to get the best out of my system.

1. Vertical sync and Frequency are set to Auto. Should I leave them at this?
2. Disable Hardware TL. What does this do?
3. Vertex offset. Again, what is the purpose of this and do I use it?

Sorry if these questions have been asked before but I am curious to know.

Nothing you do will improve framerates ... N3V gave you the best settings possible ... messing with settings will either mess up your installation, or provide 1-2 framerate improvement ... if that.

1. Half rate V sync and frequency 60Hz will give you 30 fps, Full Rate at 60Hz will give you 60 fps if your system is up to it, downside is you may get some bad flickering, recommend leave well alone at auto, the game will decide what's best.
2.Turns off some of the hardware acceleration and reduces performance drastically. Used for older GPU's or drivers that may not support hardware acceleration.
3. Used to correct poorly displayed text in menus and such, like it's out of focus.
