Do you think there will ever be a PS3 or XBOX version of Trainz ? I oh so want to buy a PS3, but the lack of Trainz or anything remotely close has put off my purchase.
Are you sir, a complete idiot? The complexity of the game itself defers its production for any other console but the personal computer. Also adding Auran's current financial state, I highly doubt they will produce a game for any console besides the Personal Computer. Make your PS3 purchase, and be happy with whats available. Trainz never has, or will be developed for the PS3 or Xbox series of entertainment consoles.
Well, obviously it would have no surveyor, and various edits would have to be made to the engine and CMP, if included. It would be possible, but there isn't really a market for console train simulators. It would be interesting, though...
If you want Trainz on the big screen, why not investigate if your graphics card has a TV output or second DVI which you can connect via DVI to HDMI to your TV set depending on the inputs?
I think it would be cool if there was a way to link it to you computer through a wireless connection maybe, to get all your content, and just have Trainz Driver on the console. That's the only way I can see it actually working on the 360 or PS3.

Plus a major code rewrite, Consoles use different processors.
There is one way and that's to convert the console to run Linux which has been done with playstations and XBoxs and run Trainz in Wine or though some form of VM however the design of the consoles prohibits access to the advanced graphics features so probably be a waste of time and the Console probably then wouldn't be much for its designed purpose either. The nature of Trainz is that it allows people to design create add to and alter things none of which is possible on a console.......... yet.
Personally I think Consoles take the creativity out of gaming.
To be able to run a Trainz scenario/activity as simply as a console game or a browser game is a very nice dream. No installation, no service packs, no hunting for missing assets and then mending them. Just press the button and go! But a dream it is now and probably will remain so for a long time, unless OnLive delivers....
