Trainz installation issues

Good morning everyone

I have started TRAINZ with the Classics collection 1st and 2nd edition . I bought this via e-bay. Runs well. But... is this classified as an add on or a stand alone version of TRAINZ?
I have protrain perfect the full version with 3 add ons and a couple of other german add ons , I believe that I need to have TRAINZ 2010 first in order to install those, is that correct ? And if the classic collection is an add on , then I guess I have to get TRAINZ 2010 first and then re-install ?

Sorry to sound a bit ignorant there, but am new to TRAINZ. I want to use it next to MSTS .

Cheers,

Father Ed Bakker

Hello everyone ,

Since I posted this , it was suggested to me that I need to get Trainz 2010. Still happy to receive any feedback from listmembers.

Best regards,

Father Ed Bakker

Hi,
Reason you might not have received any support is that a lot of community members don't trust people who have no version of the game registered to their account. We had some crap with people using illegal versions of the game in the past.
To fix this, assuming you have at least one legal version of the game, go to this link and register that game to your account:
https://www.auran.com/planetauran/SN_Enter_Serialnumber.php

I can't help you with your question.

Hi,
Appreciate your comments, thank you. I have followed your advice and registered my TRAINZ Product. Sorry I am new to TRAINZ and on a learning
curve. Hope someone can now respond to my query.

Hi Father Ed Bakker,

It appears that your product has not appeared in the timeline properly and still does not show as registered. You need to contact the helpdesk via the link at the top of the forums, for assistance with this.

What you have stated in your original post is partially correct. Classics 1&2 came with a standalone version of Trainz, actually a subset of the very old TRS2006. The ProTrain Perfect routes, however, are in fact add-ons and need a current install of Trainz.

That said, you did the correct thing by installing TS2010 as this will give you the base to start with. Keeping this in mind, even TS2010 is quite old now by software standards. It's no longer supported officially by N3V Games, however, the community can still provide support via the forums. If you have a computer capable of handling the latest version, i.e. 64-bit OS, higher-end video card, lots of disk space, and a fast processor, we do recommend you upgrade to at least TS12 SP1, HF4, or to the very latest Trainz: A new Era, aka T:ANE. Having the latest version will give you access to all that was available previously as well as the current available content on the Download Station (DLS). With the DLS, we recommend purchasing a First Class Ticket as that will give you unlimited download access, unlike the regular access which is not only slower but also limited to 100MB per day.

John

Good morning John,

Thanks for your advices. The icon problem has now been fixed.

I noted your point about TS210. I was wondering whether TANE would suit me then ? I list below my systems specs, but have a feeling
that I might have to upgrade. Here are the specifications :
Asus sonic master
Processor: Intel (r) Core (TM) i5 421iu cpu@ 1.70 ghz
Videocard:Nividea Geforce 820m
Videocard 2: Intel (r) HD Graphics family
RAM 4GB
Operating system MS 10 ( Build 10586) 64 bit

It will all be a learning curve for me , reason being that I have been running MSTS , but trying to run this on Windows 10 is nothing but a headache. Enough said.

Cheers,

Father Ed Bakker

Fr. Ed, Bakker,

You may very well be able to run T:ANE, though you may have to turn the graphics sliders back a bit. It's good that you have TS2010 anyway as that will allow you to transfer content into T:ANE, though I am not sure how well some of what you have will work. I will leave that to the others here. I am traveling at the moment and don't have access to all my files and reference material.
