Trainz forum taken over by vbulletin on my computer. Can somebody tell me how to remove it.
Avast antivirus does not list it as malware.

VBulletin is the web software that runs the Trainz forum. Although some here have expressed the view that VBulletin is actually a form of malware, it is not.

Check your link address (bookmark or however you access the forum) it may have been corrupted.

I am pretty sure this OP is talking about this also. ----> https://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?141449-This-login-is-insecure-trainz-forum

To the OP, ignore the message, if you want to know what it is, and why it is happening, go to the link.

yes, I saw that thread but I have not encountered the problem on Firefox.

Install 'https everywhere', and you will see it in front of the url. Its the yellow triangle on top of the lock icon.

People should know that this isn't really a problem, at least not one to worry about, or one that can be "fixed" unless some unknown authority decides to force every single computer on the internet to use ssl for all http traffic.

The yellow triangle is on the latest Firefox which is v56.0 without any add-ons.

Yes I now see it, it is built into my version of Firefox. One must ask is there anything in the Trainz forum that would warrant a security warning? I don't have my real email, home address or any personal information stored here.

I have found, through recent experience, that there is far more to be concerned about with outside image hosting services.

If you click on the triangle it says parts of this forum are not secure such as images. That presumably is due to where they are hosted, use a decent host and they are https use something like hostthenpost and it's not.
