Trainz Forge UP Steam Popping/Static Noises

so, I have the Trainz Forge Union Pacific Steam Locomotive's (FEF's, Challengers both JMB and the Late Era, Big Boy,) are all making this popping and static plus I am trying to figure out how to remove the track sounds from their KUID's without causing their assets to be faulty to get the popping to stop.

Do those KUID's with the sounds get downloaded from the DLS? If not, then perhaps you can open for edit, use Explorer, find the files that make the sounds, copy them somewhere else, and replace them with blanks with the same names.

they are from the DLS some of the dependencies, but I know someone from the previous trainz game was able to remove the track sound from the Big Boy and they said it works though the FEF's, JMB's and Late Challengers a web I am going to have to navigate.

I removed the track-sound from the config file and it cleared right up for me.

See this thread...

Wash, rinse, dry, repeat.

The audio issue with some assets started in TS12 HF4 build 61388.

You can take a look at this fix. There was a nice thread on this here in the forums but it's very difficult to find unfortunately. The step-by-step guide had some nice diagrams and pics that made the process easy to follow.

Maybe that is why the horns and whistles were never the same for a while, lately better, but still I remember like when a major TS12 update happened, through T:ANE, some seemed to cut off. I know, off topic, but.

There were a lot of other issues with TS12 and T:ANE in part due to quick dump and run update tactics we had to deal with along with the attitude back then of take the update or leave it. That changed when us beta testers refused to let an update out and forced the crew to actually fix things prior to releases. Since then, their processes have changed for the better, I think.

The underlying audio engine has changed since then with the introduction of X-audio in TRS22 and up.

I think Trainz was updated little bit ago but IDK if it fixed the audio stuff.

I tried it and it messed up everything so I am going to try it over again.

The X-Audio update won't fix the popping sounds. That requires adjusting the offset in the audio.
ey, Citron do I need to download Audacity then work from there. Because First I am going to replace Big Boy's whistle with something else.
Re-Edit: @JCitron and @pdkoester I think it might be the whistles causing the issues and not the trucks or bogies in general.

Yes, you need Audacity or some other audio editor to fix this. Audacity is easy to use for this. Someone had made a nice tutorial for it, but I can't find it anywhere.

I actually was too able to do it the ye ol' fashioned way by replacing the Whistle sound with a different sound file and made the popping stop and I can hear those great bogie sounds.

That process works well too. With a gazillion whistle sounds out there, it's relatively easy to do that.

Yeah it generally works better though I need to find a way to Edit the Big Boy to have a different whistle sound (EX: the 4014 one.)
Edit: @JCitron I am trying on the DLS to find a Big Boy Whistle that sounds like this EX:

@JCitron Post Edit: I had to rechange one of the JMB CSA-1 whistles and one of the Challenger's as well (The Oil variant) due to having them emit popping again.
Also Repost Edit: How do I remove the track sound from their config files? @JCitron
Edit 2: Is it the Asset made by Spock2004 called Invisible Bogey No Track Sound? Because that could be causing the popping. and I wanted to replace it with TUME's SD40 bogey sound.
