Trainz for OS X?

There was once a Mac Beta of Trainz... whatever happened to it? Will we be seeing a Mac version of Trainz any time soon, or at all?

Ken,

You probably already know what I am writing about below, but wanted to send it anyway.

I recently bought a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard installed. Also bought and installed a virtual memory manager and installed Windows XP and TS2009. Works perfectly and looks stunning on the 15 inch display!

I am no expert on this thing, but I got to thinking that maybe even if the Mac doesn't have an Intel processor, just install a virtual memory manager and then Windows.

Hope this is of some value to you.

Regards

Fred

PS I haven't seen anything in recent memory about a Trainz Mac version.

Hi Ken,
I'm running Trainz TC 1 & 2 on a MacBook Pro 2.16 with an ATI1600 video card. I found boot camp is about the best, runs great with the sliders maxed.. I tried VMWare Fusion and while it ran 2004 alright, TC ended up more of a slide show. The video drivers leave a lot to be desired from VMWare, only an SVGA driver and you have to split your video card.

The other emulators for non intel Macs are much worse. Way to slow except for simple games. I will admit it's been a while since I checked though.

There was a Mac version of Trainz in Beta several years ago. I guess it's been dropped some time ago. Shame though, would have been great to have a native version, I hate booting into Windows just to get my trains fix, but with the Intel chips we probably won't see one.

Dave......
