Yes it does run on 2009. the password you get by following the instructions here http://www.darjeelingtrainz.com/
You need to go to the forum to read the downloading and installing instructions which will tell you where to get the password, you need to read the instructions properly otherwise you could mess up the install which has to be done in a specific order.
