Trainz Classics Selling where?

I've been checking a bunch of the big box stores locally here in upstate NY and nobody seems to have heard of it. Nothing on any of the web sites (coming soon!) either. Anyone know where it is going to be sold or is this a mail order only purchase?

Yup, that I'm aware of. I was planning on buying it over the counter, so to speak, hence the question, is it mail order only or is it going to be sold retail also. Nobody in my area of the woods, seems to have heard of it.

Distribution of Trainz Classic is an interesting question. TRS2006 had regional distribution and regional websites. As there has been little updating of the UK website, I'm guessing (please note this is total unfounded speculation :) ) that the regional system has been quietly dropped.
 
The UK Just Trains version will be called Trainz Railways according to this page on the train-sim.com web site.

I just looked and I couln't find any mention of Trainz Classics or Trainz Railways on the Just Trains web site, amazon.co.uk, amazon.com, merscom.com (the US distributor), or walmart.com. I know it's not yet released but it is perhaps surprising not to find any "coming soon" notices.

Interesting. When I originally posted the question, I expected a bunch of replies with a list of retail outlets expected to sell it. Seems to be some sort of state secret ( I can tell you the name of the store, but then I will have to shoot you, LOL).
Unless I've missed something somewhere, a simple post from Auran as to it's distribution would be helpful.

Surely it will be available from some retail outlet? If it's only available through Auran net sales, that would be quite a step backwards; as I see it.

Probably be like TRS06....the initial release was to pre-orders and online orders....it didn't hit stores until sometime later. Reading the newsletters and posts, I don't see anything about the release date of July 9th as TC hitting the shelves then...:cool:
 
Would Trainz Classic be suitable for someone who used to run Trainz 2004?

I am looking to get back into Trainz again. I realy prefer prototypical layouts and would like to run Classic trains like the Union Pacific Big Boys in addition to. I have upgraded to a fairly high end computer with 2 x 8800 GTS cards SLied. I am just not sure whether to get this Trainz Classics, get the earlier Trainz 2006 or wait for Microsofts effort due out at end of year (so they say). :confused:

The rail simulator being developed by Kuju stands a good chance of making it by the end of 2007, but on development evidence for the new Microsoft rail sim (four blogs) I think that end of 2008 would be optimistic for their offering.

Indeed!....my favorite error message of all time...:cool:
Hopefully there will always be some other train sim in the works somewhere....hate to see the complainers left without greener grass...
 
That has to be one of the funniest (unintentionally?) Wiki entries...:D

The article states the product, the developer and the release date (as Sept 2007).

The top of the listing is "This product is unreleased software, please do not add speculation"
Perhaps the release date isn't speculation....
