TRAINZ 22 PE vs Sound Settings 3D

While driving, the sound is so spacious that the unnatural reverberation is distracting and irritating. The TRS19's sound wasn't spacious, but it was good and clear. In the TRS22, the new sound stage is set too far back towards the rear speakers, when it should be set towards the front speakers. AURAN should consider implementing 3D and 2D sound. My question is whether it's possible to switch the sound in the TRS22 to the same good quality as the TRS19. The only resource I've found is Sound Settings 30501: 100004, which supposedly disables 3D sound, but I don't hear it. Help !!

I think your bringing up the age old debate about sound in Trainz. Sadly, this has been a two decade after thought at the expense of eye candy and the insufferable industry trends of paid monthly subscriptions.

It's probably just a matter of setting the 3D sound scene, which is currently shifted significantly towards the rear speakers, plus doppler and, in fact, another unfinished new feature which, as I said, probably only requires setting the 3D scene in the controller *.dll

Supposedly, the sound engine will be updated someday.

I noticed that the sounds are better after I turned off audio enhancements for my soundcard. The Realtek game enhancements made my audio mushy by adding too much bass and rumbling effect.

In Windows, sound settings are a given, but without add-ons, it would be a complete nightmare. And now to the engineers at AURAN – we need to choose in the control panel either OpenAL32.dll 2D, which I see is in the files, or xaudio2_9redist.dll 3D. The problem is the inability to toggle 2D to 3D or set the 3D scene, because the sound is like a toilet. It's not a lot of work, maybe someone will kindly take care of this?

A solution from azraz. The simplest solution would be to set the 3D scene point in the xaudio2_9redist.dll driver and move it towards the front speakers to reduce the amount of reverberation in the rear surround speakers, which will immediately be much better heard on headphones. >> Front 90%-95%

Probably at the moment the 3D scene xaudio2_9redist.dll is set to Front-surround 50%/50% hence the toilet sound.

Could someone confirm that the Sound Settings which is permanently installed in the TRS22 30501: 100004 does not work?

If you want an answer from N3V, you need to add @N3VSupport to your post. It will be a couple of hours, it is early Tuesday morning there now.

Done.

Could someone please check and let me know if the TRS22's sound settings (30501: 100004) work? Specifically, if disabling the 3D option in the TRS22's settings works. I want to get the same sound as the TRS19 on OpenAL.

This doesn't affect Trainz. I have a high end SoundBlaster card in the computer I use for digital music production. If I don't disable the "enhancements" for the card and set the audio to direct in the SoundBlaster control panel, I have the same effect.

The old pseudo-stereo audio, converted from 8-bit and 16-bit sounds, in Trainz are in need of a serious upgrade. No matter how much lipstick we put on this ugly pig, it's still a pig ready for the slaughter house. The good news is at least diesels no longer sound like vacuum cleaners. This was my impression back in the early days forcing me to use TRS2004 through TS12 with the sound turned down to nothing.
