trainz 2010 stalls on win 7 x64

I installed trainz 201 on my pc win 7 x 64 and it crawls like a slug. I meet all the requirements and have 4 gigs of ram. dual core cpu. ati 9600gt video.

Why does it take 25 minutes to get the first tutorial??

1) Make sure your game resolution is set the same as your display. It sounds counter-intuitive, but a higher resolution can speed up the machine.

2) Change modes. If it's set to run in OpenGL, switch to DirectX and try again.

Make sure your settings match. It sounds like your system will run TRS10 and then some.

Edit: Perhaps you should look into upgrading to a 1GB NVIDIA GTS 250. Just a thought.
