trainz 2010 can it run on xp pro sp2?

hi all
i cannot get sp3 to run on my pc.
it keeps crashing.

can 2010 be run using xp pro sp2?

Yes, it can. However, you will not be able to apply the Trainz service pack, which is now at SP1. For some weird reason, Auran requires SP3. They probably don't realize that they are hurting users who don't want to upgrade to a Windows Service Pack that really isn't needed.

In fact, TS2010 runs quite well even though I'm pretty much running minimum system requirements. But, then again, I run Trainz on an always-offline machine, so I have no need for anti-virus software.

my gaming pc is never online
it may be hooked up to a lan network, but never the net.

will think for a while before deciding to spent money on something that may not work.
i cant use sp3 as it crashes some of my other programs that i need to run
