I have been trying to download something but cannot. it says cannot find profile or do not have valid ticket serial no. I have been trying to find out why for two days I have a valiad serial no and ticket. I am not happy with this product I am so mad i can hardly type can some one please help are ther any instrutions

Welcome to Trainz. You can download new stuff, including routes, from the download station, DLS for short. You can access it from the game launch pad.
thanks guys. do they have instructions some where on how to download new stuff. I am new to this sim. I have been with msts since it started. this one is a little different. when I download something I start it and says i have not committed. and also the dependency thing. do you have to install them into the object you download or do they do it automatically.

Do you happen to have a copy of the manual? If you do, have a look in the section titled 'Content Manager' - that will explain how to do it.
If you have not got a paper version, there is a electronic version installed with Trainz - click Manual on the launcher screen (the first one after double-clicking the shortcut) to view it.
Normally, Content Manager will automatically download dependencies if they are available on the download station. If they are not, post the name of the item causing problems.

well I found the instructions in the sim but they were not that helpful. I know it's something simple I hope but I can't seem to grasp how to download and commit or something. I have a first class ticket that came with sim good for 30 days. but I'm afraid it's going to run out before i figure out how to work this beautiful sim. I already want 2010.:Y:

Click on download station at the top of this window. Make sure you tick the boxes below 2006. Newer versions wont work on your older version. Click add to the cart when you find an asset you want. When you have selected what you want click on download and your CMP will open and add the assets to the download window. Click start and it will check and download. If you are asked to commit open the open for edit tab and then select all assets in this window. On tool bar click edit and commit.

I purchased a 1 year FCT when TRS2006 is my only version.
I believe that if I upgraded and purchased 09 or 10, my FCT would be good for those versions also ... and vise versa a FCT purchased in 09/10 would be good in TRS2006 as well.
Believe me a 1 year FCT is great, and well worth it. You will find that you will be getting 375 Kbs as opposed to a non-FCT speed of 3.75 Kbs.
Don't worry about it expiring ... you probably will be buying a 1 year FCT.
I struggled with slooooow speeds for over a year when mine ran out ... now I just love the high speed downloading, again.
I could give you plenty of advice on how, where http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php, and what to download, as I downloaded 70 Gb of assets in under 30 days time.

well i finally got an engine to download hooray. I am sorry for being so dumb but i think i am in the wrong forum. I see you have one for tz 2006. I guess i will go there and find out about how to add dependencies. thanks guys you were a great help its nice to know that there is hope.:wave:
well i downloaded a union pacific engine and two ns dash 9s. but they don't show up in the railyard I still think i'm downloading wrong I need help please:'

In the CMP click "Dependencies", then: "view in main list".
Some of those depenencies are on the DLS for download.
Others are on external 3rd party sites for download.
Others are typo errors or config file errors that need correcting in Edit in Explorer.
Some dependencies are no longer found anywhere and must be swapped out with a comparable kuid.
Google the kuid to find it somewhre.
We on the forums can help you locate problematic hard to find kuids.
PM, or Yahoo IM is a great way to find a kuid

I used to be so confused about missing dependencies, how to download them, and how to edit config files, and errors.
But now I am @ 50% proficient at getting almost any problematic asset to work.

Kevhead, When you open trainz,click on content manager (CMP for short)now after it built it data base and log you in to Planet Auran, then you can down load anything you like. To do this you click on the search window on the lift,now click the arrow a list of things will appear go down to location,click, now to the right another arrow, click it,click it go to down load station, click,now there a list of all the stuff you can down load. By right clicking on a item, scroll up to down load, click it and a window will open and your item will be there, you need to click the start button. ( In options on the launcher there a place to check automatic comment)After your items have down loaded, then click the open for edited,right click on the top one, a window will open scrol down to select all, click (everything should turn blue) now hit the ctrl & m keys at the same time. Now your items has been down loaded and committed and should show up in rail yard,surveyor & driver if you put them on a route.

well I figured it out. I had two anti virus programs running at the same time. I also got trainz downloader pro. I am so thankfull for you guys. you helped me out alot. now I will figure out how to make a train and start a pike. thanks again:udrool: ps I could not have done it without your help.
