Trainsoptions.txt

Get over it
I was throwing out some old papers and came across Trainsoptions.txt from Wikibooks. Anyone know if keepallresoources helps when running in driver? I have a fairly good system, (i5-3570K, CPU @ 3.4, 16.0 GB RAM and NVIDA GeForce GTX 660 w/2048 MB RAM ) and was just curious if this would help. Thanks.

I found that a lot of these settings appear to impact the performance in TS12 rather than improve it with keepallresources being one of them. All I can say is give it a try. Your system performance results maybe different than mine were.

I once read a detailed study, conducted by multiple persons, that altering trainzoptions never made more difference than a couple of single digit framerates difference, by altering the trainzoptions file, as Trainz comes with just about as best trainzoptions as you can get.

Unless your forgetting cascaderailroad, freeintcam is a usful tool for walking around the cab, or just "simulating walking out of the train to catch up on stuff with the Guard.

I can no longer find the "Trainzoptions 100 Minute Test" on the internet, but the conclusion of multiple experienced Trainz members in this extensive test of editing lines in trainzoptions, found the framerates were only improved by a very slim, marginal, single digits, if any at all, increase in FPS

I've used this freeintcam feature forever and I've been wondering if anyone has figured out how to get it into T:ANE without trainzoptions.

The other feature I use frequently is the debug entry so that holding down the shift key will accelerate the session to 3 or 4 times its normal speed. great for trouble shooting a new route/session. I found that this can be enabled in T:ANE by checking the debug option in the options menu.

Maybe freeintcam can be added as an option?

Cheers

Thanks everyone for replying. I think I'll leave things as they are for now. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
