Train Gifs (Computerized Mini Trains)

Off the Deep End
Hello all.
Have any of you ever heard of those little computer train images called train gifs? I could assume yes as several members have them in their signatures (so did I at one point in time). Here is a topic to post any that you have either custom made or edited.
All of the originals for mine were created by Media by McCann
1.) The Original DRGW Ski Train
Original%20DRGW%20Ski%20Train.GIF

2.) Silver Streak
Silver%20Streak%20(1976).GIF

3.) Rio Grande Scenic Tourist Train
Rio%20Grande%20Scenic%20Tourist%20Train.GIF

4.) RI Corn Belt Rocket
Rock%20Island%20Corn%20Belt%20Rocket%201967.GIF

5.) Amtrak SPV-2000 on Fire (which they did do alot in the 80s)
Amtrak%20SPV2000%20on%20Fire%201980%27s.GIF

(These are all featured in the guest designer section of the Inside the Roundhouse website http://www.trainweb.org/mccann/offer.htm)

;) Made by me and sent to Good Old Auran in the past but unused. :hehe: Too much Iberian! :p

Many more available...

The transparent background side of Alberte

You mean things like these :)

VRSClass.gif
VR_H220.gif
VR_R_class.gif
WAGR_W.gif
WAGR_prospector.gif

trains.gif

And some a bit bigger to enable more detail,

trainsb.gif

All done by my own little fingers.

Just a little hint, make the background transparent, it looks better than having a white box around them.

Cheers David

Edit, Hang on a tic, I have just read your post again, those gifs are not yours, yet you insinuate that they are, making up a train gif out of someone else's wagon gifs does not make the train gif yours.

Great, but scale?

What sort of scale did these get designed at? ie 1 pixel = ?? inches?

Is there another free program besides MS Paint to make these?

Not demeaning this thread in any way, but please host the images somewhere else before posting them on the forums. directly linking pictures from a website, especially on a frequently visited forum like this, will suck up bandwith for the host site. Upload them to phobucket or imageshack first.

Just a friendly tip.

The larger ones in my post are 1 pixel = 10cm, I can't remember what the smaller ones are but with todays high res monitors they are really to small.

I use "Gimp" its free and really to powerful for simple gifs, try using google for free paint programs.

Cheers David
