Train assets red in surveyor

Did not see a related post, so I am asking -

When viewing train assets using Surveyor in TS2009, some items are red.

Can anyone explain why, and if it is a problem, how I can repair it?

I think that they have missing dependencies.Or try reinstalling the content.And have you patched with the sp`s

I have the same problem

I have gone through the dependencies and Content says everything is okay. I have reinstalled to no avail. This has happened to only a few assets. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.
 
My problem is that any of the equipment that is red I cannot place (on the track in the case of locomotives).
 
Can you give me a couple of those kuids & I'll have a look at them for you, I have TS2010, but there isn't a lot of difference to 2009. :)
 
Red items in the pick lists of Surveyor always indicate either missing dependencies, or a faulty asset. Open the CMP and press the tab 'Missing Dependencies' to see if the items you have trouble with show up in the list. If not, go to the search filter, clear it, and then enter the search term 'faulty' and check again. When you still find nothing wrong with the items you want to use, e.g. nothing shows up, it's probably time to do a database repair to see if that helps.

I am new to trainz and I am trying to get my grandson a EMD MP15. I have found 4 two AC and two DC, one CSX one Union Railroad. The other kuid: kuid:328524:100141, kuid2:359354:100604:1 and kuid2:359354:100603:1. "Faulty" returns nothing and I have done a quick database repair. Thanks. Dave
 
May I suggest that if you are typing a long reply, use Notepad or a word processor, as the site has a built-in inactivity limit.

Finally, when I look at asset dependencies some have a question icon at the beginning. One example is kuid:113556:101010. Also, if you have any suggestions for a beginner please let me know. I am finding it difficult to find answers on this site. From the unusually snowy Ohio River Valley, USA, Dave. Thanks!
 
KUIDs that have a question mark at the beginning are ones that are unknown to your version - usually means they are on a third-party site (Google or similar may help you find them).

Unfortunately, I cannot paste anything on my clipboard into this box. I get a message about wanting to access my clipboard and then it does nothing. I waited up to ten minutes with no success. Dave
PS. I have seen some of the things that you have written about Trainz and the are very helpful.

Items that show up red in the download helper, are missing from the DLS, but are supposed to be there. It happens occasionally and I suggest waiting a day or two before downloading the same, original asset again. This may give the DLS database a chance to catch up with what's been uploaded.

Regarding your browser issue... Confirm you want to do just that. Yes I want to paste the information and also ensure you are running your browser in compatibility mode. Check Tool, options/compatibility mode and add auran.com to the list.

........ in both 2010 & TS12, there are 3 "unknown" items, these must have come from a 3rd party site, they may even be payware.
 
I checked and all of the downloads I have of MP15’s have unknown dependencies. I downloaded one again and it still has this problem. So I guess I am out of luck. If anyone knows where I can get an MP15 I would appreciate your letting me know. I tried the suggestion about browser compatibility and it works now. Also, Chrome seems to be happier on this site so I may start using that. Finally, is there are area with just tutorials for beginners? I have found tutorials but they seem to be scattered. I really appreciate everyone’s help. I really enjoy this game and my grandsons do too and they are only 3 ½ and not yet 6. Maybe I should have them show me what to do! MP15s use part made by SPORBUST (id:113556), which are no longer available. For some of these parts there are alternatives available at the DLS (like assets updated by n8phu).
For the example kuid:328524:100118 the following dependencies are not available at the DLS
kuid:74779:100064 - K3H Airhorn available at uslw.net
kuid2:113556:53010:1 - MP15 Blomberg Truck (replace with kuid:473973:100408 or 100409)
kuid:113556:101010 - acecorona (replace with kuid:473973:100432)
