Track Snapping

I have an issue with surveyor. When ever I go to place track near each other such as in a yard or for a double track, the track automatically snaps to the one next to it and forms a junction. Sometimes the track needs to be like a grid away from the existing track. Is there a way to fix this?

Hold the shift key down to keep the splines from snapping together.

Or... read the manual. I think is easier to find solutions reading the manual than writting here, or is the other way around?
