Trainz Team
The Pakenham Train Show is on again this weekend and will be attended by the friendly TotR (Victoria) Team headed up by Mick - pennsy - Malloy. Details are sketchy, however the event is to be held at the Pakenham Sports and Community Centre this weekend from 10 - 5, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May, 2007.

The event will be well signed and if further details come to hand we will post them here. Stop by and say g'day to Mick and the boys and get those extra copies of TRS you've been wanting to buy for gifts ;)

Cheers.

Hi Lance,

I'll be there as well, on a different stand though.:)

Be nice too catch up with pennsy and the boys.

I'll have too make sure I Demonstrate a different aspect of Trainz.

Perhaps Steam............Yeh:D

I'll know more details this evening.

Hi Guy's,

I'll be on the "My Hobbies" stand at this exhibition.

Pleased come and say Hello. The only things we'll have for sale are model engineering components.

For the PC;

I'll just be showing "Surveyor" and how too's in "CMP" in 2006.

The guy's on the Totr Stand will cover the rest I'm sure.

BTW, Part of what I'll be doing will include a Demonstration of Il2 1946, so you can have "a laugh" at my expense, as I manage to "Crash" a Spitfire or a Me109.

Cheer's,

Alex:)

Melbourne cable tram remnant

I am in North Melb for the weekend and have just come ocross a remnant of the cable trams...100 years + old.
If you can get to Abbortsford St North Melbourne they are digging up the road and there is a long section of what I believe is the old cable route distinguished by the central track and wooden blocks. Surely this must be preserved and I will contact Melb City council when I get home to ask about this.

Cable car track

Jack, I see you are a little way from melbourne. I hope to be back in Melbourne in a couple of weeks. so I should get a chance for a better photo of the roadworks. I have a couple taken at night on my daughter's digital camera.

Hi Rod
I'm a keen fan of old Cable routes and remember the track was still showing in parts of Carlton back in 1957 (that's when I left Melb)and recently bought on EBay a VCR Title "Commuting By Cable" Marvellous Melbourne and it's cable trams between the two wars,it was produced by "A.R.E" in 1988 but am not sure that they are still in existance now. There is an old address for the Assosiation of Railway Enthusiasts shown on the box as a Private box 8 at the Collins St PO.

Despite the age of some film used it is very good.

cable car in Melbourne

The Melbourne newspapers have picked up on the cable car and I have had response from the Melb. City Council regarding the cable tram and its significance.
I think from this that some of the route will be left exposed, even if its only 100 metres.

Ships in the night...

Ships in the night.

I'll be in Melbourne that weekend, and go past, right past Pakenham, on to Yarragon for the weekend. I'll try and get down there, if I can find a way.
