Too bad cabviews

1-The problem is 3-4 or maybe 6 trains have got SAME cabview(gauges, throttle, levers, lights, color). But in real, they are not

2-In some trains,the gauges/levers...are missing or cartoonish.

3-Some of interiors are wrong.Like at Dash9,SD40 and GP series. In real, the interiors are COMPLETELY different from game.

4-Sometimes gauges(speedo)are wrong like ICE speedo.It shows 110 when i am making 120-125

This really sucks. In screenshots, the downloadable trains have good cabviews.I will wait reply for serial ey problem from support and download that trains

You could make your own cab views if you are not happy with what is given.

Some of the new German cab views are absolutely spiffing, and there are some teriffic cab views for R-4's and the UK EMU's

Creating a good cab view is as much work or more than creating a loco. Adding an existing cab view to a loco is very easy to do. Even changing one.

The problem comes in the motivation to create and the time spent creating them. Research is more difficult than getting hold of a set of plans for a loco. Not every one enjoys them so given the amount of effort needed to create them they don't get created.

It suprises me that (to my knowledge) no-one in the payware marked has tried to create cabviews for sale to reference to existing stock. I would have thought there would be a market for them, considering the difficulties involved in creating anything, let alone animated controls.

I don't mind non-perfect cabviews in stuff i download, but i think the built-in locos should definitely have cabs. Some of the locos in TRS06 are clearly unfinished, which isn't very good.

2-This is partly due to the game; some gauges, such as tachometers and vacuum brake gauges to name two are unsupported by the game. Other times creators are too lazy to create dials.

4-Much of this is Auran's fault. They created a perfectly good system for calibrating dials and then a)didn't use it in their locos, and b)forgot to document it. In fact the content-creation-documents available for trainz all but order people not to calibrate their dials. I have documented how this can be fixed here:

This is often because the shell of the loco is already half the cab. By making a loco and a cab in one go, you cut out half the work required for the cab.

Grand champion cab view: If you look out the front window of the built in Milwaukee box cab in TRS2004 you'll notice the long snout of a GG1 out there.:hehe: A rather odd effect.
For the most part, I consider the cab view a bonus rather than a necessity.
