Time to get the downstairs an RAM Upgrade

Trainz has been running, it is just not as smooth as a baby's bottom. And I still haven't resolved that bloody problem involving DirectX since it refuses to co operate. And to make matters worse, OpenGL on my laptop has died. This isn't my day is it?

In what way is DirectX refusing to cooperate?

Have you updated it using my sticky thread in the General Trainz forum?

I tried updating and yet, when I tried to download DirectX 9.0c, it stops download for no reason whatsoever. I mean, this is on both my laptop and the downstairs computer. I can only get openGL working on the downstairs computer. But I need another 2GB of RAM to make it as smooth as a baby's bottom.

Another thing. OpenGL worked for a few minutes but the engines were seethrough and so was the track.

I am getting the Cannot communicate error when trying DirectX mode...

Fair enough - sometimes DirectX updates work, sometimes they do not.

Make sure though, that you are downloading the correct one (if you are having download issues, download the redist version using a system that will download it, copy it across to your trainz system(s), and run it - use the instructions in my sticky in the General Trainz forum to guide you through the process.
