And if you are reading this thread,

let's hope you are using a laptop and are at some truckstop that has wireless.....

Come to think of it theres some really dark clouds here too(Tampa Bay), but thats just the edge.... I'm glad the New Orleans Mayor ordered a mandatory evacuation. Also: Keep your eyes peeled on Hanna, she could be the next big thing. Why New Orleans? Its just a thing we'll probably never find out...

Ditto. Yesterday, it was full of rain and wind in Miami. If you were in the Keys, you'd get Tropical Storm force winds....

I live in Louisiana, and when Katrina hit in New Orleans, and I live in Northern Louisiana. We had tornadoes, flooding, and strong winds for at least three days. My whole yard was flooded out.

The good news here is that the mayor of NO is doing a manditory evacuation of the entire city, I live on the Florida Gulf Coast myself, so you know that this time of year makes me nervous for sure.....:( :(

I hope that EVERYONE has taken the advice and gotten to safer grounds.

Myself and another member email a Forum friend who is well known here. He was unable to help us at the moment as he is in charge of a rescue service and waiting for the 2 Hurricane's to hit.

He lost his home in the last one, and now his is ready to loose it again while he helps others.

My thoughts are with him and all those in the path of the Hurricane's

Amen!
If you are able to offer any assistance to those who have had to relocate, please do so.

UK side

And very best wishes and the best of good luck from the UK. Here in England and indeed Britain as a whole we have no real idea what it must be like to suffer such ferocious weather.

May your particular God be with you and watch over you.

Also Ike is Kyle's adopted brother in South Park. I wonder why they named it Ike...

Oh wait a second... Isn't Kyle on the list too? :hehe:

Anyway, I'm glad New Orleans was at least spared. I hope they are doing alright there.

I live a little north of West Palm Beach so it may be batten-down-the-hatches time Sunday or Monday. Always a chance it will divert but you never know and you don't dare take a chance.

I grew up in St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area hasn't had a major storm hit in over 100 years. Most folks there probably don't believe it can happen but it can! Its only a matter of time and considering how things have been built up since we moved there in the early 1950's it ain't gonna be pretty. A cat 4 or 5 coming ashore just a little north of the mouth of Tampa Bay and its wipe-out time due to the storm surge.

I can agree on that with you. If Ike does make its way, or if Josephine makes its way towards the Bay area, I'm gonna expect anything from just rain and wind, all the way towards another Katrina. Like you said Bendorsey, a lot of people don't realize the damage. I do, I guess cause its all about the "expect the unexpected". I read the SP Times, a really great newspaper, and I go to tampabays10.com for many updates.

Wish... and pray for us in the Tampa, Orlando, and Miami Metros, as well as other locations throughout Florida and the southeast. My mother is preparing for another Andrew....
