This is strange....

I've created my first route in TRS2019. In CM, it shows absolutely nothing wrong with it:

Yet, in the game, it shows this (denoting faulty content):

Any ideas?

Bill, you probably already know this, have you tried clicking on the red and white '!'
It will then open a window with the content of your route in it, then you can see which asset is at fault.

cheers,

This still strange. I can see two assets, but by Mick Berg (KUID:240029:1210 & KUID:240029:1140) Both are tunnel assets (portal and track). They are listed as Modified, Payware, Faulty. There appears to be no way to fix this. I'm going to have to find another tunnel and portal for my route.

One of the errors was the build number less than 3.7. The other was CM couldn't break out the texture from the .texture file. Images2TGA gave me a blank "OK" button and that was it.

Whenever I get a fault of any kind, the first thing I do is look to see what's broken. In some cases nothing is found on the route its self, so I start checking dependencies and sure enough in most cases, there's a dependency that's gone awry. I then start down the route, pun intended, for that issue and sometimes a revert to original fixes the problem, or sometimes even an asset update solves the problem. If these don't do it, I'll run a DBR and sure enough the problem is then resolved.

Well, until I saw the little icon atop my route in the menu, I had no idea there was any faults in my route. I added those two items a couple of saves earlier, yet the faulty icon didn't appear until three saves later -- and only on the last save. I'm questioning why the two faulty items didn't show on the main CM screen for my route when I'm looking at dependencies. It was a case of suddenly popping up out of the blue AND only when looking in-game as opposed to using CM.

This sounds like CM is being really, really slow in processing the content. I've had that once before due to a very full hard disk and very low virtual memory. I since changed hardware and boosted my VM to 2X my installed RAM on all my drives and that helped a lot with that issue. CM is still CPU and OS bound it seems.

Disk problems are doubtful. I have just over a TB of space left on my Trainz drive. And taking care of virtual memory is what I do first to any new system. Even after doing a DB rebuild, things remained as in my last post. It's probably just one of those things that will never get explained.

Have you tried doing a full DB rebuild? Hold down CTRL and left click on DB rebuild. This clears all the cache entries and has helped me in the past when things get really munged up.

BTW, thanks for your service. I was in the Navy 11 years during Vietnam and was programming computers back then (Outstation Processing Unit).

I already did that. It's one of the first things I do when something strange happens.

I did my full 20. Just wondering: did you spend some time in Thailand? I was there for a year. We had a guy nicknamed "Chili" while I was there. I left Ramasun Station and went directly to Skaggs Island where I took (then taught) the UYK/GYK3 class. Spent seven years there running the OPU shop.

Yes, I was at Ramasun and went from there to Skaggs too. Was going to do my 20 but the Navy got picky about giving me the UYK/GYK3 class. I think you got it instead of me. They told me I had had too many classes already. I guess they didn't want anyone over qualified... So I got out and went into Engineering. Did that for about 15 years and then did 30 years in IT. Only retired last year.

Speaking of military service, my grandfather on my mom's side was in the military. He worked on various nuclear-related projects. He was also at one of the atomic bomb tests at Bikini Atoll and ended up dying years later due to the radiation he experienced there, just a couple weeks before I was born.
