Bit sad really when you think about it overall. I don't think that generally, Americans know much about the matter of railways in the history or place in the country. This may well be due to the fact that passenger rail travel is so sparse overall unlike in earlier times so it isn't a great reality in your face kind of thing and as rail is essentially goods traffic even more so.
