hi everybody, i want to upgrade my laptop, i know most of everybody dont like laptop, but i drive truck and its a little hard to carry a desk top, i am looking between dell xps 15 or hp dv7tqe mainly the Processors, between the two i dont understand the hp one is that a good one or not they have other ones to pick from, same with dell, i know i-7 is better i dont know about the ghz, thanks,

here is the dell one
2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-2520M processor (2.50 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.20 GHz)

here is the hp one

3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM Processor (2.3 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache)

Tough call, but more raw GHz helps the most with Trainz. These two are pretty close under Turboboost, but the i5 is better in normal operation; 2.5GHz is about 8% faster than 2.3GHz.

Can you please give us a link? Just a CPU doesn't help, we need GPU (Important for Gaming) and RAM (Should be enough, but who knows.) aswell.
Do you need a laptop? I can give you a nice build for a desktop. Just ask. Do you need a monitor, mouse, keyboard and so on? Do you want to build one?
This will show, how easy it is. It's like Lego.
What is your price range? Asus and Sager do great notebooks. I can give you a link to one.
But don't forget: It is your choice, but I just want you to have a good PC be it a desktop, all in one, laptop, notebook, or just a netbook.

thanks RRSignal, that helps me, i thought i could use the i5, just seeing what the diff is between the 2nd or 3rd gen,

thanks TramDU1214, ya i do need a laptop, i drive truck, trust me, i would go back to a desktop if i could, a lot cheaper,

My answer is http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.php?page=product_info&model_name=NP9130.
It is a little bit more expensive, but it would be better.
About the CPUs: Ivy Bridges are mainly a die shrink of sandy bridge, so stick with the 2450m.
GPU: I had a look at benchmarks and the 670M beats both the 540M and the 650M
RAM: 8GB is enough
HDD: If you need more space, configure.
Optical Drive: If you don't need blue-ray keep it
Software and accessoires: As you please.
Customer Service: I have heared horror stories about Dell and HP, Sager should be alright.
My frist choice would be the Sager. (It is worth the money)

I say you should go with the hp. I have a hp dv7 and it works like a charm. It can get a little hot though..I recommend a cooling pad.Brandon
