There is not a great deal of information in that post to be able to give you a clear solution. The most obvious point to consider here is that not all rolling stock was created to carry cargo and therefore cannot be edited.

The following answers would be helpful:
  • What version of Trainz are you using?
  • Can you identify the <kuid> code of a rolling stock item that you are trying to edit?
If you are using Surveyor 2.0, found in TRS22PE and Trainz Plus, then the following link may provide some answers - How_to_Use_S20_Palettes#Loading_Consists_in_Surveyor

Sorry I'm new to this. 1. I'm using Trainz 19. 2. it happens to pretty much every piece of rollingstock that was made by jointedrail. One example kuid is the CN Gondola "<kuid:584038:100058>"

Ok, that's a good start.

I don't have TRS19 installed but I do have that asset, <kuid:584038:100058> CN 4000cf Rotary Gondola, which is built-in to my copy of Trainz Plus. Looking at its dependencies:-

In Content Manager, right mouse click on <kuid:584038:100058> CN 4000cf Rotary Gondola and select the option List Dependencies.

Asset ID Name
<kuid2:104722:2501039:1> Arn library, v2.51
<kuid:584038:100528> CN Coal Gon Skins
<kuid:-3:10040> Bulk Load
<kuid2:44179:60013:10> Coal
<kuid:-25:42> default wagon
<kuid2:45324:555246:9> Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.47a
<kuid2:584038:100667:1> S-2 Truck 100 ton 263,000 lbs 6.5in × 12in 36in wheels dark

In my copy of Trainz all the dependencies are showing as either Built-in (which means it was supplied as part of the install process) or as Installed from DLS (the Download Station). Each item in the list, and the wagon itself, should run in TRS19 without any problems - another column in Content Manager not shown above confirms that.

Your list *should be identical* to mine (order of items may be different) but it is the last item, <kuid2:584038:100667:1> S-2 Truck 100 ton 263,000 lbs 6.5in × 12in 36in wheels dark, that is the key. This is the bogie (or truck) under the wagon. If this item is missing, or shown as <kuid:584038:100667> <unknown asset> (note that the two ID codes are not exactly the same), then that is your problem with as much detail, including <kuid> codes, as possible.

If this is the case then there are two possible (but not guaranteed) solutions.
  1. Run a Database Repair - either from the TRS19 Launch Window or from Content Manager open the Developer menu and select the item Repair Database. In fact I would run this anyway even if there appears to be no missing assets.
  2. Contact Jointed Rail - website https://jointedrail.com/ and explain the problem.

I tried running a database repair, but nothing has changed. I already contacted jointedrail but they said it was probably an issue N3V could resolve. I just went here to see if anyone had the same problem I was having so it would be faster for me to solve it since the trainz contact ticket is taking a while

This has to do with internal changes to the games since TRS19.

I test my code in TRS19 build 117009, but unfortunately everyone with this build does not have the same experience as I do. This is not something I can do anything about.

My recommendation is to upgrade Train Effects to latest <kuid2:45324:555246:9> Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.47a because I have tried to address the problem, but I am quite honestly tired of trying to fix it.

In my experience, what version of 19 you are using will determine if you are having trouble with the S-2 bogeys.

An update to their dependencies included "RS Truck Library" <kuid2:45324:25508.2> which is a build 5.0 asset. This asset will work in 19sp5 build 117009 but not in earlier versions.

You basically need to use the earlier version of the truck library.
