The Pennsy RR's GG1-esque "Cab Forward" Steam Locomotive

Below is a drawing of a PRR steam locomotive of the "super, multi-section articulated type". Although it was never built, the Pennsylvania Railroad did apply for a patent on it, circa 1944.

It's just one of the weirder things that can turn up in a Google Patent Search. Oddly enough, its outline is rather similar to the GG1...

Who knows? Maybe in one of the alternate universes, it was actually built, and perhaps is still in operation! ;)

Wanted: Plans for the original Baldwin Centipede 6000.

You mean the one with many prime movers, portholes like an ocean liner, and the Dick Tracy profile? Got the bogies... might be square enough to build a reasonable facsimile of the body in Sketchup!

I love experimental designs and drawings. I have diagrams for a proposed direct steam turbine loco similar to the S2 that the Reading proposed, as well as a 3 part electric that was drawn up by the Reading as a helper locomotive on the Mahanoy Grade but neither were ever built.

Well, by dinghy, having another go at the Q1? Obviously not intended for reverse moves.

Yes, it would seem to be another incarnation of the Q1, although by 1944 the PRR was starting construction of the Q2s.

I'm also fond of the proposed but never-built locomotives. I think it'd be neat to see some of them running in Trainz.

That's the one! Really want it for some future project, bring it into 1/8, 1.5" scale railroading. I LOVE BIG STUFF!
