The NVIDIA GeForce Experience HUD won't display the FPS meter

Run MSI Afterburner and the Riva Tuner to go along with it. If I remember correctly, your performance stats and FPS will display on the interface and also in the tray. Keep in mind that running utilities like this while using Trainz or other programs can impact their performance.

Maybe using Trainz as a FPS monitor is a better option? Drive your session-route go to /Developer/Show Profiler instead of running a separate piece of software.

That would require running TRS22 in a window. For many users, this is an issue because they prefer full screen. I on the other hand prefer windowed because that allows me to do other things such as bring up Google Maps while route building and running in a window appears to have less load on the video card, which not only drops the heat but also increases the FPS a bit.

Thought he was talking about monitoring FPS only while running Trainz. I use Trainz Profiler to monitor changes only the fly but you are correct as to trying to use outside of Trainz.

I am able to use Windows + G to bring up the X-Box Game Bar overlay, but it is big and clunky taking up a lot of real estate. It gives the frame count. NIVIDIA used to have the neat little corner counter with green numbers but they phased out GeForce Experience which no longer offers a nifty little simple FPS readout in the screen corner. I check FPS in parts of the route that starts to shudder a lot to see if heavy 3D content is dragging Trainz down.

GForce Experience = virus. It'll kill your computer performance and your system will work a lot faster without it.
