The Next Step in Model Railroadz. . .

What do I mean by that? I mean going outside and making garden railroadz and 1/8th scale live steamerz. However, there is one significant problem that works against these: 'Human-sized' buildings. For example, in the Garden Railroadz area, G scale is about 1:24th scale, meaning that everything 'Human-sized' will have to be 24 times the size of the trains. An eight foot door would be about 144 feet high in G scale (8x24) With both of these, this also means any exterior furniture, decks, railings, and such. However, the Live Steamerz would result in a whole new series of tacks for the trains, new locomotives and cars to be made, since the people ride on the trains instead of in them, buildings for the trains, etc. etc. etc.
Any ideas on how to do this in Trainz?

Something tells me this is not the answer your are hoping for, but anyway...

Sure; the same way as with every asset you want:

Good luck :D.

Edit:
Btw, I think I remember someone making these "garden size drivable trains". Let's see if I can find them somewhere.

Edit 2:

Found it.
It is the "mini trainz" project made by Dragonharh.

Mods, please lock this thread. There is now one in the 'Prototype Talk' section where it is more appropriate.

Garden railroads (or railways to me in the UK?

I've been working on this for a few weeks and have made a few artefacts so that a Trains route appears to be to 1:22.5 scale, including a shed, greenhouse, garden wall, track bed, box (sempervirens) bushes in pots, patio and a pair of semi- detached cottages. Not published because I didn't know whether there would be any interest - but maybe I now will.

Incidentally, all I did was to take some of my own creations and enlarge the in GMax by 2250%.

Does anyone remember 2X, models twice normal size. Someone in NZ made several models. One advantage was that the the baseboard grid was effectively 5 metres square allowing more near-vertical faces. I made some stock that size. One thing I noticed was that when driving a loco it felt heavier. Probably because the weight increases by 8X and Trainz treated it as if it was a much larger engine.

I vaguely remember that. The overall scale of the trains in the world made for a much better-looking simulation. I don't know have much farther it went though other than your assets and their idea.

Not much interest in 1:22.5 scale, then, so I'll get on with something else - but it was fun having a go, as always with anything in Trainz!

Back to 1:76 scale - or full-size perhaps.
