A long, long time ago, I got the crazy idea to start a video series on youtube - based around my model trains. It had horrible voice-acting, horrible camera work, and a horrible plot. But for some reason, people liked it, so I kept working on it. I improved the storyline, signed on more voice-actors, and a few other minor improvements.
Unfortunately, I couldn't fix the main problem with the series - getting the actual episodes out in a timely manner. It wasn't a loss of motivation (I wanted nothing more than to see this show come to fruition) but a lack of time to devote to filming and editing the videos. Plus, there's only so much you can do on a basement model layout. After about 3 failed reboots, I finally cancelled the series.
Recently, I've restarted the series again - but this time, in a literary form. This has a number of benefits over the older series. The biggest difference is that literature is a lot less restrictive than a basement trainset. Also, stories can be written and posted much more frequently than a fully edited video. Even so, I decided to take it an extra step. Doing somewhat of a middle ground between the stories and the videos. "Audio Books" to be more specific. The point is to have a spoken "read-along" version of the stories, complete with individual voice actors and background music. However, in order to do that, I need people to voice for the characters.
That's where you all come in! I'm posting this video several places that I frequent in hopes of attracting a wider margin of participants. As long as you can read a script as a character in a believable manner, that's all I'm looking for.
In order to audition, simply visit the link shown in this video [link] to view a profile of each character. You may choose more than one.
Next, send a PM to RontheCyborg (Me) telling me which character, or characters, you are auditioning for. I will then message you my email address, as well as a few audition lines for the characters you've chosen.
Once you receive the message, record an audio clip stating your Youtube account, who you are auditioning for, and the recording of the aforementioned lines (The actual audition).
The auditions will end April 6th. After that, they will close for judging, and parts will be announced a few days later.
Even if you don't think you'll be good for a part, audition anyway! The written-version of the MRS has a lot of one-time minor characters that need a unique voice - one of them could be you.
Also, if you know someone who might be good for a part, tell them to audition too! We need all the participants we can get - male, AND female.
Now, get started on those auditions! Good luck to all who participate!
