The Lewistown, Burnham & Northern (Large Images)

After a two year hiatus, I've decided to get back into Trainz. I bought TS2010 last week and I've been having a blast using all the higher quality content that wasn't compatible with TS04. It's really crazy to see how far the level of quality has come. Anyway...

This is the project I've been working on. The Lewistown, Burnham & Northern. The name isn't very original haha, the tracks run through the town of Lewistown and Burnham, and the Northern part just sounds, "railroady" lol. The route is based off of the Juniata Valley Railroad's (which is the local shortline) trackage. I basically look at it on Google Maps on my iPad, and transfer it as best I can onto Trainz. (Call it lazy DEM if you will ;)) I've also added a few industries and other features not featured in real life, just to add some interest to the route. So far I only have like 5 miles of trackage done with minimal scenery lol. I though I'd start this thread to keep a log of my progress and give me a drive to keep going with this haha. Hope you guys enjoy!

I'm really diggin' Jointed Rail's content, gonna have to start getting some payware from them soon!

Is it a DEM from Marysville (Cove) to Mount Union ?

Thats all we need to connect the Reading/Harrisburg DEM on Checkrail, to my Johnstown/Mount Union DEM

Man it's been a while since I've posted here! I was on vacation last week then I'm gone for another week starting Sunday!

Anyway, I've been working on trying to use more grass textures than rely on grass objects, here's what I've been working on.

I know Lewistown fairly well ... don't overlook rebuilding the area as it was in its heyday, in the 1900 to 1970 era ... it once had a great yard, shop, and roundhouse.

My mom taught school in Bellefonte, and Lewistown

I'm a misplaced mountain man.

I've decided that The LB&N will just serve as a name. The route itself is somewhat based off of JVRR trackage, but mostly it will be freelanced with different scenery. The yard may or may not be replicated to the JVRR

Well, somehow I must have deleted the LB&N! Not sure how but I went to work on it and it didn't show up in the Surveyor menu, oh well!

Onto LB&N v2!

I finished the trackage to Maitland. Also I downloaded HP Trainz's awesome grass textures and I decided to mess around with them tonight.

Looking for some constructive criticism, enjoy!

Looks great!
Have you tried hitting the star button on the routes menu, it happened to me alot in TS10.
Also I think maybe a pond, creek or even river along the line would look really cool

Thanks man! Yeah unfortunatley I tried that and to no avail. :/ But it was kind of a good thing since now I can start over with these textures! haha. And there is a creek that runs beside the line that heads to Maitland, its a bit far away though and you can't really see it. I think I'll move it closer to the tracks because I think you're right in that it would make a sweet screenshot!

Double post but... montanawestern how does this look?

Polyfig's trees sure are amazing! Does anyone know where I could download some low poly stuff to, "fill in" the mountainous regions? Greenery was going to be my first choice but it seems they've shut down.
Enjoy! Constructive criticism welcome!
