Grumpy Old Bastar*
Due to an impressive amount of emails and PM's asking me to reconsider announcing new items on the OCR webite in these forums.

I have decided to continue, and the 'people' that don't like it can put me on their ignore list, I can assure you I will be doing the same.

The Great OCR Tree Conversion Project Update for 20 Feb 2011

The 'Fir' section is now complete (total 22 Items)
9 new Items added to 'Pine' section (total 9 items)

I do not see where those users would have been complaining about you announcing your content here on the forums. I believe that most users do that, even when the actual content is on a third-party Web site. What I think they are talking about is how you are creating new threads for each update to this one project. Most users here simply add to their original threads on the project when they have updates, it seems. It does not really decrease the number of views that your updates receive by any notable amount, if at all, it just keeps the forums tidier and allows people who want to read about your project to look at all of the information and updates in just one thread, without having to dig through multiple pages of threads just to find the update that came before the latest update. ;)

Feel free to do it how ever you want, as I do not really mind. I am just saying what the benefits are and the sense it makes to just keep it all in one thread, and therefore what valid point those users were likely bringing to your attention. ;)

Regards.
