The Cowboys UP 9000 series steam engines?

Curious to see if anyone has come up with the answer to getting these locos to work in 2012.
I can get them to show up in the rolling stock window but can't get them to load on the track in order to use them. The tenders load up ok so I don't know how to get the engines on the track.

These are great pieces of work and they would be great to use in 2012.

Thanks to All.

Just reinstalled them from an archive after you reminded me about them.
They all show up and now work ok.
The engine files are the only items with yellow warnings now.
What warnings did you see in content manager?

Hi
I just checked the dependencies of the engines and they show some kuids as being unknown in 2012
I then did the same thing in my 2010 game and they showed the exact same kuid's with the question mark in front of them. And these same engines work fine in 2010.
have no idea how these missing kuids can effect one version of trainz and not the other version.
I also have the original Big Boy engine that was payware since Trainz first came out and it worked in every version of trainz until 2012.
This engine was made before we ever had kuids.
Well at least I can still use all of these engines in 2010 version. So they are not lost from trainz.

I have no idea how to archive them.

Why not open them for edit in 2010 and then import them into 2012?
To archive things, right-click and select archive. You will then see the items in Archiver on the left of Content manager

There's a recent thread on this same subject. I know the forum search function is pretty bad but you might get lucky and locate it. It might provide some help. No consolation I know but they work for me in both TS10 & 12. I don't recall much of a problem getting them to show up and run. Can't remember the exact changes required though. I made cdps from Shane's updated ones in TRS2006 and installed into TS10 and later into 12.

If you moved them across like I did you have to make sure you get all the dependencies or you will show missing ones. I'd suggest you right click on the locos in CM in TS12 and get the missing kuid numbers with "view dependencies", then look back in TRS2006 and locate them there.

Thanks Bob and Colin55
I may just try again to reload 2006 in my computer then load the engines back there from the installation exe files from the cowboy. Maybe then archive the files and then open for edit and commit in 2012. I actualy just saved them to a cdp and installed them in 2010 and everything worked fine. The files in 2010 show the same kuid's with the ? mark in front of the same kuids that are shown missing or unable to locate in 2010, and the engines work fine in 2010. It's sure confusing to me with my little knowledge of computers.
I always thought that a CDP had all the assets included to have your engine or route work.

I'll keep trying.

..(snip)...I always thought that a CDP had all the assets included to have your engine or route work.

Not usually the case although if you download a cdp from the DLS, then dependencies should also be downloaded if they are also on the DLS.

Bob: I just had a case I had an engine in 2009 and I wanted it in 2012..I put the engine in CDP(2009)..opened up CM in 12 and drug it through the Import section and it worked just fine.

That's exactly what I did. And the engines and tenders show up in the get trains window and the tenders all can be loaded on the track in surveyor mode but the engines will not load on the track. The only thing I can think of is I remember quite a while ago the Cowboy made a change to the textures of the engines with a little wheathering and we could download this change which I did. Now this could be the missing link that is Not in the files.
