The Best Rule/Command (s) for J/S!!!

Since 2001
Hi Guys & Girls

Just out of curiosity, if you have made a layout with plenty of junctions and signals, what would be the best rule/command (s) you would use to systemically control each junction and signal?

Thanks for any feedback
Ish:) :D

Anymore input?

I posted this in the old forum, and had over 3000hits ... I guess the forum has changed as well, in that many many older timers just don't bother to visit!

Just an observation!!

Hi Ish,
Sorry, I don't know about the junction and signal rules .... but were you expecting 3000 hits in the 12 hours between your posts

(just another observation) :p

Hi,

Frankly, I don't expect anything these days from the forum or Auran .... for those who where there in the beginning, clearly knows the different then (old forum) and now (new forum)... but let's not beat an old horse down, as this subject where already disucss endlessly. However, I am just answering your question:) ! (on expectations)

Back then, you felt the buzz around the forums ... :D , epsecially trainz related topics such as this one.

I guess we where just all new at this (trainz world), at that time ...

Life certainly goes on!!

Ish:)

Hi Ish6, you've clearly been using TRS for many years longer than my one so my observation is probably already known to you.

I tried the rule to control signals but found it unreliable. What I do instead is to put an invisible junction (facing or trailing, it doesn't matter) just before each signal I want to control. Clicking on the invisible junction's lever toggles the signal between red and automatic.

The forum may not be as prolific as pre-crash but I've got lots from it, including guidance how to do the above.

Hi Ish - I know what you mean - was in at the beginning for the Community Edition. I haven't been around for a while with my interests drifting into flight simming - nothing like flaming out all four engines on a B747-400 at 41,000 over the middle of the Atlantic and trying to glide down safely :), or trundling around the lakes and fiords of British Columbia and Alaska in a DHC-2 Beaver.

I know what you mean Lightrail. I was mad on flight simming too. I even participated in multiplayer sessions with full air traffic control!. Man, that was frightening at times: piloting a 737 into Heathrow with 5 or 6 other aircraft on approach, knowing that if I stuff the landing up, the other pilots will curse me for having to go around. Hence I always used the good ole ILS until I got down to 200 feet lol! Driving trains is a lot better, though not necessarily easier (no autopilot on trains!).

Best wishes,
Padster
