Thanks to N3V for restoring Forums...

I have a bad case of the shakes! Withdrawl has claimed a victim.

Thank goodness it is over!

:hehe: :D

Well yes thank you. It was a bit of departure from the norm, but there's interesting reading out there on all kinds of Trainz related forums. Wait, I think my old illness is acting up again...:D

thank you, I was lost in a an unknown wold, that was dark and scary, I needed the forums badly. Thank you kind folks again.

I assume that everybody who works at Auran/N3V goes home on Fridays. There should be someone working on weekends taking care of any computer problems.

Thanks guys for restoring the light in my life.

Just curious, what time did they come back on?

Matt.

It was kind of interesting seeing some of the regulars here posting over at the "US Locomotive Works" website while this Auran page was down.

Some people tend to present themselves differently under a different roof.

We do not know the exact circumstances of the server outage.

What if someone was there but repair parts were not available over the weekend. We should not assume that the problem was neglected.

Wow, I forgot all about that site Jim, but you know my eyes have been acting up lately, and I may have missed a book mark or three.:(

Weekends really shouldn't be a blind spot for server problems, one would think. At the university where I work, a server going offline triggers pagers, emails, even automated phone calls to alert those responsible so they can respond.

Any official word on what happened? Glad it's back, too!

Hi All
The forum/helpdesk servers did experience some issues on Sunday (AU EST, just as reference :) ). I generally check the forums, etc, on Saturday and Sunday mornings if I'm around, and when I found them offline (and after confirming with a few other Trainz users), I reported it to the admin at about 11:45am.

Unfortunately, it appears to have been an issue at our server host's end (who are in the US), and as such we had to wait for them to sort the issue out. In this case, it took a little longer than preferred.

However, we do monitor the forum over the weekend, so generally issues are picked up on fairly quick, and hence are fixed within a short time.

However, please understand that we are a relatively small company, and as such, if something does happen, a fix will not be 'instant'. It may take a few hours (or a day or so) to sort out, particularly over the weekend. We do try and do this as quick as possible, however I'm sure most people don't work 24/7 :)

well, whatever the case, thank you for getting them back! serioulsy, i didn't know what to do with my life...I downloaded three huge routes i'll never use to fill the void (you think i'm kidding, i'm not...I have no life:hehe: :o)
