Thank You Members for updating Faulty Items!!!

ish6

Since 2001
This thread is ONLY specifically to thank those non-creators who have taken their time to fix the faulty items made public. As many as seem that list just keeps growing and growing, and non-creators are taken their time to fix these items. One dear friend has fixed literally hundreds, and for that I am thanking him. Despise how we may feel publically and/or personally, we can’t just ignore those who are taking up this incredible task. I have glanced at the list and uncovered items from members that have either passed away or have not seen in these forums in ages, thus passing on this information to my dear friend, who has spend countless of hours fixing these items. Also, this thread goes to those I don’t know, and thank you for taken a minute of your time to fix such items as well! Your contributions are well welcome!

Thanks You
Ish

Here, here! It's good to see so many items that are old friends being available for use again.

Thanks to those who made them and those who fixed them.

I fixed 7 of mine and got a nice thank you note from Auran (although with close to 4000 items on the DLS I suspect I will be getting more lists from them, lol).

Ben.

A major thanks to all involved, It's a mindless boring task and anyone who helps in any way - "Thank you all"

Cheers

Trent

I would also like to thank those involved in making Trainz that much more enjoyable for those of us who do not have the know-how, or simply cannot be bothered with:p:hehe:, the updating of assets to meet current standards.

Your task, while onerous, is in no way thankless.:clap:

Cheers,

Matt.

Hi guys,

IMO the Company who Never Fails ;) should reward the Fixing Legion with something more tangible than just a thankyou. :D After all, the Never Failing Company is earning some income with the DLS (boosted by the common labour from contributors and fixers).

BTW, IMO long-term mass contributors as Ishie, Dave (Drake), Rene, Ben et alter -please I'm just giving a few examples, there are more, of course- should also be granted a more tangible reward than the ethereal honour of being beloved members of this community.

Another BTW, my deepest gratitude to all the fixers who are contributing with the upgraded updates to the Third Party Sites. Just a sample at IBTZ (among others)...

I have tried (in vain) to repair certain items.
Many thanks to those that have the required skills and are prepared to use those skills for the benefit of the wider community

tafwebs updates

My thanks to all of you who have been involved in updating the many, many assets that have required attention,...it is a time consuming task with usually no thank you at the end,....thank you especially to tafweb for your updating of your timeless models,..hope that you are keeping well,...again many thanks to you all..........regards

Thank you very much - every day, I'm getting closer to going walkabout in the bush - TS2010 "native".

Hi Everybody
I would like to add my thanks to the Army of repairers working out there to update the faulty assets on the download station.

I cannot believe how quick the list of updated content is growing and that is a tremendous compliment to all those involved. After all the argument and controversy it is good to see so many in the community pulling together on this.

Great achievement

Bill:)

HEART BROKEN

Hi all,

I am surprise that there aren't more thank you's on this thread -- folks always complaint about how much faulty items there are at the DLS, and now that they have the opportunity to thank, at least a few words, these people for fixing these items, they don't ... I just don't get it sometimes!:'(

Seriously, there are literally thousands of broken items paste on pages after pages, and someone I know is really putting their time to fix these items, as well as other folks too, so we can all benefit!

Let's not forget them!

That's it!

Ishie

As I have repaired one asset so far, I know it's not the easiest thing to do, so I will also add my thanks to the other users who have taken their time to repair the faulty content, as well as those who are currently repairing the content - hopefully, in a not-too-distant future, we will all be able to run Trainz in Native mode (TRS2009+) - anyway, who knows if there will even be a Compatibility mode in the next version of Trainz?

(A quick note though - TC1+2 is only supported until September, so any content created after then will probably be a higher trainz-build)

Dear Shane,

Please, let's clarify things leaving them unconfused.

Fixing assets to work faultless in T9-T10 has slightly to do with native mode.

For being able to work natively some assets would need profound redo from the very moment of the meshing and texturing steps following the 'new' specs and regulations for 3D creation and naming.

Maybe the superb AssetX by Great Andi and Peter will help fixers go deeper in meshes and textures, but up to date fixing the DLS merely consists of getting rid of those faulty sins now declared overt by the new religion of "New Trainzerism" -some of those sins are really whimsies from the current priests of that creedence :D -. Fixing isn't going deeper into the roots because it's not possible technically for now. And of course modifying meshes would be a greater sin to the trainzetiquette than the sins being preached overtly now, according to the old creedence of Trainzerism. But as Bob Dylan sang: The times they are a-changing; surely for better, but I sometimes doubt it. Yes, I know, I'm a XXth century man... :p

My estimation of getting to go fully native? About six or seven years on! There is a lot of alpha-blending in legacy. :hehe:
But that's not a big problem for you, Shane; you're a young man! :D Six more years for my age is really ages! :hehe:

Anyhow, long live legacy assets and let's keep trainzing in aborigine mode!:hehe:

Thankyou for the clarification - I have a feeling that the necessary work will probably have to be done sooner or later for assets to work in Native mode - especially since (from what I've read) the Muiltiplayer patch for TS2010 removes the Compatibility mode from TS2010.
