TC3: Missing points lever (Not!).

I have an odd scenario in TC3:

A loco is in a Yard and will not respond to a Command to go to a station due to "missing lever". The route is complex so I sectioned it off (with track markers Point A, Point B etc.) ,and gave AI Commands to take it though a section at a time until I found the problem area (prior check verified all point motors were in place). I now have a Point B1 and Point B2 between which is a point motor which apparently is the problem.... but .....

While an AI Command to go from the Yard to B1 is ok, an AI command from B1 to B2 is also ok. An AI Command, however, to go direct to B2 = "Unable to plot route - missing lever".

There appears to be an apparent inconsistency here however, I replaced the point motor and moved the track around a little but to no avail. .......... any ideas?

Thx. Colin.

Solved: For anybody who might be interested. The Command to go direct to B2 was blocked because the "AI route of choice" involved travelling North on a Southbound line. Once I placed a direction marker to block that option, the loco chose the correct route.

Missing points lever

Check all spline points beyond the last point you can travel to on the route. Chances are there is an unmarked "junction" in there somewhere. I find it is easiest to use the "move track" option and try moving each spline point a small amount. Eventually you will probably find one that is in fact a "junction". Hope this helps.

Ah, these are two very interesting solutions. I have a similar problem with an AI train leaving Kings Cross. I have scanned and stared until my eyes went fuzzy and not found the mysterious missing lever.
I,ll get on to checking these solutions out soon.

Hi Deano5: That was exactly my problem. Nothing was missing. As noted however, the problem was that the loco was trying to use a rather creative route, and not the correct one (which was what I had checked). You may wish to think "devious" and block (with direction marker) the first junction in which your loco could take the wrong line. Other things which appear to factor into these kinds of issues are points within junction spline circles and signals which are within junction spline circles. If you have not already checked those aspects, you may wish to do so.

Regards. Colin.

I too had this problem when AI trains tried to take a short cut through the sidings before Finsbury Park Station. I found a missing lever by the tower blocks south of Finsbury Park station beside the crossover at junctions 866758 and 866680. There is what looks like a catch point just after the bridge which does not have a lever.
