TC3 available for payware or freeware

Would TC3 become available for pay ware or free ware? because Tc3 might break and then I wouldn't be able to get the route again.

Im pretty sure you will have to pay, just like you would have done with TC1&2. And I think TC3 will just add onto the TC1&2 install,or if you only have TC3 it would create a new install like when you install any other game.

Thanks But...

I don't think that I was specific enough because i don't think that you understood what I meant.

I meant download the route of TC3 because if TC3 broke and you couldn't get it running then download the route onto a previous version of trainz classics.

TC3 is not a new Route it's a whole new game to break it you would have to break the Disk it comes on.Then you would have to buy a new one.

Thanks.:) That's a shame.:(

Why? TC3 is the latest game engine as well as having some rolling stock and a layout. That means it runs a little faster has fewer undocumented features, is a bit more reliable, and has other enhancements such as the ability to use different passenger sets and things that make steam locos more realistic.

To me the layout is just something that comes in the package. The other things are far more interesting.

I think the route (settle and Carlisle) will be the most interesting thing, but it would be rather stupid if they were to make it available on the DLS since there would be less incentive for people to buy TC3.I believe a number of guys have been working on the route for 3 years.

Well I said that because TRS2006 broke. I got another. That broke too. And so my parents wouldn't buy me another. And so I was pretty much stuck.

Why Put it onto the DLS? That would just be a waste off effort and time.

They should make that stuff work like eldavo's railway emporium. Where you only have to buy the product once and if it gets lost you could retrieve the program again and re install it.

More, if you include the time for Hawes Junction.
I liked hawes junction. Never stopped playing on that route.

Is TC3 a stand alone program or is it an add on? Do I need TC 1 & 2
Will it run on Vista?
Can assest downloaded from the 'download station' for 2006 & 2004, and stored on disk, be loaded onto TC3?

It can run on its own. In fact i thinks its an entire new program too......

Will it run on Vista?
it SHOULD but knowing Vista (i own it) its not gunna run at its best (bill gates is resigning this OS is so bad!)

all new versions of trainz are backwards compatible

TC3 is a stand-alone product. However, The theory of the TC line of product is designed to upgrade previous versions of TC if you have them so those routes will take advantage of the new features.

The concept of the TC line was to produce a stand-alone product with only the content and features required for the specific route provided with that specific version. Therefore if you download a route not specificly designed for the TC version you have, you may be very unhappy since the route could be missing assets which were built-in to older versions of Trainz.

If you puchase TC3 (or 1&2) with the thought of downloading routes you will also require 2006 so you can import the built-in content required by the route you download.

By the way, this also applies to rolling stock as well. If fact, a considerable amount of rolling stock require built-in content

Quite personally, I am dieing to get my version of TC3.

Have fun!
