what did the showcase route look like?Treez was the add on pack available for Trainz 2009 (I think). I bought it years ago and at the time it was a good pack with 3D trees and I think it came with a showcase route as well. Then speed trees were introduced and it became irrelevant but it was a good pack in its day. I think it might still be on the N3V store as I'm sure I've seen it somewhere but I can't quite remember now.
Looking now, it appears the name has been resurrected for the new tree system under development by N3V so that looks interesting.

It was a circular route going through areas each reflecting the different seasons and the associated foliage. It was quite well done actually and as you could actually drive it it let you see how the foliage would work in a route. The route included with the latest version of Trainz that shows off the new features is more a baseboard of scenes which you can't drive but Treez offered you a view. I'm sure there'll be videos online.what did the showcase route look like?
I got that pack as well and the "treez" don't load properly in T: ANE and up as I found out the hard way. If you install the pack as I did, it's a bear to remove and you need to go through hoops. These aren't even Speed Trees and are old mesh trees. Some of them load fine while others are missing textures and turn green and magenta, and some have blob-meshes where leaves and branches are supposed to be.Treez was the add on pack available for Trainz 2009 (I think). I agree, they were good for the time but I wouldn't bother using them now as they're old. They must be getting on for 15 years I'd have thought?I got that pack as well and the "treez" don't load properly in T: ANE and up as I found out the hard way. The word "Treez" came out of the Speed Trees when they were called SpeedTreez in TS2010 when they first showed up. Like Carz, plainz, and trainz, it's just a silly way of saying what they are. Tongue in cheek I suppose and harks back to the time when people that frequented the forums actually had a sense of humor.
Indeed, the new ones look really nice. I have a feeling that both Speed Trees and the new trees will coexist until the Speed Trees are obsoleted unlike the last time when we got caught empty handed. I'm saying this optimistically of course because who knows what might happen.I agree, they were good for the time but I wouldn't bother using them now as they're old. The new Treez system looks interesting, I think even I'd give it a go. I think it'll be interesting to see how N3V cover the transition between speedtrees and Treez with minimal interruption to the userbase.

@natcumbres - No, not really. You'll have to make do with what we have available. There is no magic source for non-speed treez flora, that are magically better than SpeedTreez.i was wondering about non speed trees as all of them seems unrealistic with that fade
